I like him as a prospect, could end up being a dominant DL for years, but definitely if he’s floating around day 2 he’s worth that pick… he’s ridiculous for his size speed wise, and could end up being a good pressure guy up the middle for years ..

Someone will snag him in the 1st, even if it was a very talented class. I mean if he's there with our 2nd it's a duh no brainer although then I'd question whether something medically came up.

Just not top 10. But there are teams going for the playoffs like the Chiefs (could trade up?), Chargers especially, and even Patriots that are NOT good against the run.

Look I get it's a passing league, but you can't let teams just run all over you. If your rush defense is HORRIBLE it's a disaster unless your offense just puts up a TON of points regardless every game (see Chiefs and Chargers). However, even then it's still a liability. A giant nose tackle like that can also free up your pass rushers by just clogging lanes and allowing your pass rushers to just go balls deep with rushing the passer.

So I get that. That being said, does Seattle have an amazing pass rush group? No. Do we have a good rush defense? Yah, we do. Tied for 2nd in yards per attempt (we just gave up a lot of yards because the pass defense sucks and we allowed easy passes over the middle non-stop). Also, does Seattle actually have a pretty good defensive line at the moment? Yah actually, we do. Is the #9 overall worth a player like I described above? No. IF that player had pass rush skills as well? Abso-fucking lutely but if he did he'd be gone by the time we drafted #9.

He's a 15-20 type of pick IMO. That said, Seattle has loved the Red Bryant, Al Woods type player and they love their big athletic freaks... so it wouldn't shock me if they grab him. If we did fine, but trade the F back and get another 2nd so you can hopefully get Mafe after you trade the other 2 seconds to get in the late 1st to grab Ridder (which I'm convinced they'll do).

If they blow the #9 on Davis and an EDGE, Neal/Ekwonu, a trade option, and despite me not liking a CB is available... I'm flipping my shit.

I would 100% be fine with that mock. Penning I'm 50/50 on, but we get Linderbaum in the 2nd and Pierce + Clemons? lksdajflsdfja;lkfja fdkfjdlfjdfff sorry, I'm wiping off my keyboard.

FWIW, I'd rather have Lloyd at 15 is available.

I like the Toughness and Meanness on Pennington but I don't think that is a need on OL because of Stone.

We need a prototype LT.

I like Lloyd Alot. If I was Schinder, I would be making calls to move into 10-15 range.

hate stantons mock draft, a few extra mid-low round picks and a guy that probably wont pan out at LT.
just take Davis and be done with it, he has potential to be an absolute beast in a 3-4 D

my absolute nightmare scenario is we trade up to 7 and pick a QB.

I can understand why you don't care for Pennington, he's raw but with a lot of potential, including busting and I also see him as a risky pick the sort the Seahawks are known to take, he's big tough, fierce, really high metrics, but needs to be developed and his fierceness could lead to a flag fest. However can't get enthused over a run stuffing DT who won't be that big of a difference maker to use a first on.
Taking a QB in the first would be worse case scenario even if they don't move up to draft one. I do like Clemons and Pierce, especially Pierce who seems like a prefect fit at RB for the Seahawks. I feel he would elevate Seahawks ground game a lot. Also if the Seahawks must take a flyer on a QB waiting until round 5 and taking Strong is the best way to go, little vested in a strong armed ( best arm in the draft) QB who has potential to be much better ( course this is all contingent on his medicals). Linderbaum I have my doubts on but many others are high on him as a answer at center.
I won't call this an ideal draft for the Seahawks but it's pretty good IMO.

Doesn't Stingly have durability issues? If so, that concerns me.
