Yah they said his run protection leaves something to be desired, but his pass protection is pretty good. Seattle ranked pretty highly according to PFF last year in pass blocking... I think it was the playcalling (LONG EXTENDED routes/deep balls) and Wilson scrambling around that led to majority of sacks.

I'll blame the OL for about HALF the sacks Wilson took. I'd say a good 5-10 and another 10-15 were a result of Wilson and Schotty. There was AT LEAST 4-5 sacks where I was like, "WILSON, THROW THE FUCKING THING AWAY!" I know he likes to extend plays and we get some home runs every so often because of it... but jeebus. Don't start screaming about OL protection when you are hanging onto it for 8 seconds.

Just read what NFL said...

"He lurches forward which allowes defenders to pull him off balance as a Run Blocker"

Yah I dunno...

If it's going back to that pound the rock style of offense that Seattle used when Wilson was on his rookie contract, then he's got a LOT of development to do... but if Wilson has convinced Seattle to pass the ball 35 times a game..... then like Pocic it's a good selection.

We just took a WR and a pass blocking tackle and kept the pass blocking center and passed on two 2nd round centers who were FAR better run blockers than Pocic... so I really have to think Seattle is going back to a passing offense, but who the fuck knows...

Well that's that for the draft. I thought we moved down 8 slots in the 4th to just outright snag the 6th from Chicago but apparently we had to give em' our 7th too... lol. Whatever, might as well be undrafted free agent at that point.

I liked 2 of our 3 picks.... I guess the saving grace about Eskridge is we typically seem to draft productive/good wideouts. Yah we've had some flunkies... but Richardson, Tate, Lockett, Metcalf, Swain (early but had production), Moore (solid, good for 500-600).

Now granted Harper, Durham, Jennings, Darboh, Norwood and Lawler (7th so whatevs) never panned out but that's still about a 50% hit rate, which I think is good... especially since none of the above guys (hit or miss) were 1st rounders. In fact most were mid-late 2nd at best.

Well, unlike many JS/PC drafts they did seem to stick towards perceived main needs. But with so few picks and the lower positions they were picked at doesn't inspire confidence that they will be major contributers this year.

*Who is the favorite for #3 WR? Will it be Eskridge or Swain? Will Eskridge be returning punts and kick offs, or will it be Reed or Homer?
*Will Brown secure the slot CB position?
I'm concerned that we still may not have 2 starting outside CBs.
*I'm assuming Forsythe will be practice squad for at least the start of the year. If he does crack the main roster then he either is much better than assumed or the OL depth is worse than expected.

Seems like a good draft with so few picks. With LB position not taken I wonder if they'll talk with KJ on coming back.

Stone was a former basketball player converted to left tackle. Another developmental offensive lineman. Likes to get hands on his opponent and drive them back. Looks like he could be a pretty good pass blocker. Run blocking technique will take some time. Especially against defensive lineman who get low leverage on him since he’s so tall.

He just needs to break a habit of Lurching so yeah
