He just means that they lost to Carolina this weekend-- that's what his "window has closed' statement is meant to convey. It's just a more sensational and dramatic way of putting it.

He's already acknowledged that the same window may open up again as early as next year.

Translation: The Hawks lost in the playoffs this year, but may be back again next year.

They were pretty obnoxious for a year or two even preceding their first Super Bowl win, but for the most part they seem to have come back down to earth. To Summarize this Thread:

The Seahawks had a down year, which included a Playoff Victory, and a disappointing loss. FACT.
The 49'ers missed the playoffs, FACT.
The Cardinals had a great season, and are in the final 4, this weekend will be exciting, Go Cards! (LF)
The Rams have a mysterious team, I can't figure out them, and neither can anyone else????

The Panthers, wow, great Regular season. 15-1 Impressive. Very Impressive. Cam Doesn't deserve the hate.
