i think moses and sherf can make a good young pair on the right side , they held there own vs watt
When did Schreff and Moses go up against Watt? An intramural scrimmage between the Skins and Texans just recently?

Mayock said he might be better suited as an OG not an OT in the NFL. Considering how the interior of the Skins OL has been manhandled, tossed away, and/or driven directly back into what was supposed to be a QB pocket. On what seems to be a semi-habitual basis. Schreff becoming an OG and hopefully contributing greatly to securing said interior line wouldn't be such a terrible thing imo.
I know you'll naturally hate it though, Dave, as in your eyes. OGs are a rung higher on the ladder than a punter.

As I said all spring there is a reason a guard has never been taken with a top 6 pick. And that reason is clear, you can find them later. If he ends up at guard and Williams turns into a beast this was a bad pick and I'll never come off that position. And yeah, the sales job I kept hearing for taking Scherff was he fills a huge need at RT.
After only 7 days they appear to have scrapped that idea, at least for now. Sorry, for the 6th pick in the draft I was not looking for a project at RT and I sure wasn't looking for a guard when they already had Long groomed and ready to go.
look this isnt the regular season and they have a hell of a lot to prove , so far so good

Look at what? Your post where you claim Moses and Shcreff held their own against Watt? I already looked at that. Hence my question inquiring where you saw Moses and Schreff play against JJ Watt.

Lets be real, the only way the pick was justified in the minds of some is going to be if Scherff is a 3-5 time probowl first ballot hall of fame type player. As far as Williams goes, it speaks more to me that 4 other teams passed on him before he got to us. Clearly the best player in the draft should NOT have been there at #5 after all.
obviously today , word has it they held their own and i added yes its TC and yes they have a lot to prove and yes it sure is better then reading they got blown up by him time and time again
i could care less if he is an OG or not . can he play at a high level at RT or RG should be the only concern instead of some myth about when and where you take certain positions you take the best football players
DGF, you have every right to speak your thoughts as much as you want. It's an opinion, we all have one. And there are many who agree with you out there in terms of draft position and Guards. If Moses is a good RT and Scherff is a great guard I'll never say another word about the pick. I'm rooting for this big time. I do kind of feel badly for Long. He was the starting guard. For a week.
I have been saying what DGfan has been saying all through the off season up until the draft. Yes, I hope Sherff becomes a great player for us but he is not an NFL tackle. Moses who some people on here wrote off is going to be our starting RT this year. That speaks volumes that he beat out the #5 pick in the draft. I knew Sherff didn't have the foot speed to be an NFL tackle in this league. Knew It!! Yes his best position is guard. I believe Scherff will be the best OG on this team. He better be!!!
I wonder if Kojo is ahead of Long on the OG depth chart. The development of Moses and the fact hat Scherff cant ply RT just put Long on the bench. Plus Long cant even beat out Lavou. I knew this would happen. Where is Shark, skinsdad, jy19 and all the others calling me nuts b/c I thought he was not a NFL tackle?
