I think LSU wants to have a local coach the team. A defensive coach to continue the tradition of power football. Also a guy that can recruit. This guy comes with the added benefit of speaking Cajunese

Ed Oregeron.

He would be so far in over his head running a program year around.

I can't think of anyone.

Who do LSU fans want if it comes down to it?

(I don't think it will, Im liking one of the Baughs to go to Michigan)

I can't either. It's such a huge hire. Top 10 if not top 5 type.

I have no idea and can't even speculate.

Yep. That's why USC didn't give him the job. He needs to spend a few seasons as an HC at a mid-major level program before he tries a P5 school. He's a great recruiter, motivator, assistant coach and the players love him. But he struggles with the in-game adjustments that a head coach has to be able to make. I was on the "Hire Orgeron" bandwagon until I saw how badly he was outcoached by Mora in the UCLA game.

Ok. Total speculation.

What about a guy like Jack Del Rio??

Seems quite a Weezyanna fit.

I think that would turn out to be a home run.

I really liked Del Rio for the USC job. But they went another way...:pound:

Agree. Would be a home run @ LSU.

NICE!! I think he'd be a great hire. I think he'd probably make the jump too. Not sure if it's 100% accurate or not, but the rumor out here was that the only reason he's not USC's coach right now was because of John Fox's uncertain health situation.

You'd be crazy not to give Mark Hudspeth a look. He took over a team that hadn't won more than 6 games in 18 years and proceeded to win 9, 9, and 9 in his first three years. And of course, he's doing it in your own backyard.

First I don't see LSU as a stepping stone.....

If Les goes back to Ann Arbor it's to finish his career. Not many coaches ever get a chance to go full circle and Les would, plus if he loses 2 more games a very real possibility LSU would not be to hurt to see him go. It would give them the perfect opportunity to not fire him in a win win situation.

Les would be very successful at UofM. He isn't a coach struggling to learn to be a big time BCS coach. He has a track record and would get along with the Michigan Mafia that Rich Rod never was able to.

As for recruiting UofM has done well with Chris Farley. A coach with the resume of Miles should not see any drop off.

As for LSU......Kirby Smart! A chance to hurt Alabama while getting a good young coach familure with the SEC.
