I won't assume to know the future, but I'm sure Romo plays again this year regardless if Prescott hits it outta the park or not

Romo probably plays next year too, barring career ending injury - even if Dak is good. Dallas needs Romo able to play (and at a high level) until at least the end of the 2017 season, or they are looking at a $19,600,000 dead money cap hit for 2017. It gets a bit cheaper in 2018 costing a more manageable $8,900,000 in dead money.

Hard to be optimistic about Romo's situation at this point. Dak turning into a good NFL QB would soften the blow considerably as he is very cheap for the next several years.

This team has a lot of young top notch talent on offense, most of which is under contract for a while. If Dak develops, this team will be set up very well for a chance at a nice run in the coming years. Another draft on defense - maybe Jaylon Smith eventually pans out - and this team could have the makings of a contender.

With a healthy Romo, I see them as a a contender. Dak will have growing pains, I'm sure of it. The defense isn't there yet - not enough talent. Healthy Romo could help mask a weak defense, but if Dak's the guy this team needs another draft for the defense and a year for seasoning.

You are probably right. I was hoping he would give us two more shots at it. Looks like that won't happen. It's been a great 10yrs minus the ones he was injured in. I always felt we had a shot with him back there.

Damn right it was a great 10 years and counting. I hope history looks back better on Romo than many of those that unfairly judge him today. I'm not saying he won't play again, I'm saying he will keep trying and keep being more likely to get hurt than others. It's not a definite. Who knows, maybe he goes 16 next year.

3rd page of a thread talking about Showers and Sanchize. Then you give us that nuggett two weeks after the injury. I saw it as agenda based- maybe I'm wrong. It's all good or at least after I jump off this cliff it will be.

I dont get it. We are talking about our QB situation. If Rome weren't hurt Sanchez wouldn't be here. When Romo is expected to come back is directly related to whether Showers was cut or we keep 3 or even needed a 3rd. Maybe too sensitive on the topic?
