We are already playing our 3rd string QB. Sanchez makes 4. While he is not ideal, beggars can't be choosers. He's experienced.

Ive said over and over how much I think Sanchez sucks. This goes back to his time with the Jets even though his team was having success. I Feel very confident that no one on here has a lower opinion of him Than me (maybe as low). He is one of the most inaccurate QBs I've ever seen. He can take a hit but he shows little desire for Football and seems more interested in how he looks on the sideline than what is going on in the game. He can't throw a deep ball or go through progressions. His attempts on crossing patterns and mid distance throws are comical as he more often air mails the ball than throws a catchable one. He turns the ball over more than anyone I have ever seen. His only success was with an amazing dense and a team that ran the ball every possible chance they had and asked him to do almost nothing. He was cut for a rookie that would be lucky to even make most teams rosters. Paying him any more than the league minimum is asinine IMO.

Now that I got that out of the way here is how I think you judge the move. In your opinion, Is he a better choice to come into a game and have some success than Showers if Dak gets hurt. Nothing else matters. As we sit here today I guess I have to say yes because Showers has never been given the chance and Dak is going to get every possible practice snap so he won't get any more ready. so I am fine with this move. I wish we brought in someone else that was available even if the salary cost was more but I'm glad we didn't give up a pick for a player that we hope never gets on the field.

The time for getting a better QB than Sanchez was before Dak emerged IMO. Unless you think Romo won't be back we have our #1 and #2 and we've gone with just two QBs before. This is a pick for a guy I'd cut in 8 weeks even though I know the team likely won't.

I look at this 53 man roster and figure if our talent was so thin that we kept 2 FBs and the backup safeties that we did then we didn't likely cut anyone for Sanchez that was going to help us anyway.

I can't remember how many times I have pointed out that no matter when you look at Sanchez's record, it's always the same. His TD to Int ratio is always 50-50. That is insane for a guy with that many starts.

I hate the move and yet at the end of the day it's not the worst move in the world. This offense is set up to bring in a vet like Sanchez and turn him into a game manager. He is good enough to maybe get you a win or 2 in a division race that is always tight.

But remember, playing Sanchez is like going into a casino. The more he plays the more likely it is you will lose.

the house always wins and with Sanchez the only house he is close to is the doghouse or out house depending on Any given Sunday with condolences to Oliver Stone for suggesting Sanchez could be in his movie :D

So you don't think Dak would have won the #2 job?
As outlandish as this sounds, I don't think he would have. He would have had less practice snaps and less preseason snaps against starters. This team always seems to go with the known over the unknown. Best thing that happened to us this year was Moore getting hurt.

That turned out to be an opportunity for Prescott which was a blessing in disguise.

Dak is good enough to be the starting QB. I may be going out on a limb but it's obvious that kid has big time talent.

We'll never know because Moore got hurt so early. But when he got hurt, he was firmly our #2. Dak was still fighting Showers for #3.

I echo a lot of what jarntt said up above.

I'm telling you when they had the blue / white scrimmage the talk was Showers the number 2 not Dak. Dak hasn't done so well in practice.

Granted we will never know, but I do think Dak would have won even if Moore never was injured. In the short time I've seen them the talent isn't close. IMO

Which is exactly why we didn't need this signing. We are just wasting cap space now. Don't care if it is minimal. If our 3rd String has to play for any length of time. Our season is done. We don't have a defense to keep the game tight if our offense falters. Which it will behind a 3rd string QB. Not only do I feel this is a stupid signing for reasons mentioned, but I am not even sure he would really outplay the options on our team now.

While the signing one way or the other isn't crippling when it fails. it is still highly stupid signing. I would have rather went with an unknown QB than what we know of Sanchez.

If it's my call I don't bring in Sanchez and would rather roll with Dak and Showers. if there was a better QB available I grab him in case Dak disappoints or Romo doesn't come back. But, like I said before I'm fine with the move. Showers got more chances this year and still didn't show them enough. Hope we get him on PS

Sanchez is a terrible pick up. Only works if you tell him"You cannot pass the football!"
I would think the players are disappointed with this as well. Would you want to play with him?
Hopefully he never sees the field we can all agree on that. I might have stayed with Dak and Showers myself.

Bright side? Our DBs will get lots of interceptions in practice now:clap:

Showers showed nothing and is awful!
They are both awful. sanchez is better if you need to play a guy this year and Showers has a chance to someday be a decent backup. Best case is showers on PS so if he turns into something you still have him for next year. No one is going to sign him onto their 53 and steal him. And if someone better comes along next year we let him go. Either way we are in trouble if either plays this year.
