The joy I get out of that doesn't seem right, but it's all I have at this point until the season end house cleaning takes place even if a couple year too late. Surely even Jerry can't think that's not necessary...but...it's Jerry...

At this point we know Rush is a decent #2, nothing against him, but since we traded a 4th we may as well open the box and try the shoes on.

I don't think he is a decent #2 at all. A decent #2 comes in and plays better than he has. His win streak was smoke and mirrors and his last game that year was more who he was and has been since. Now is he the second best QB on the Cowboys? Maybe.

One counter I will offer...if Jerry really wanted to(he doesn't), this team could completely turn around next season. The can get to $100M in cap room after signing Micah and pushing a button on Dak and Lambs deals. They could part ways with Martin, Steele and some other dead weight. The will get Dak back, have top 5-7 picks in each round of the draft(except the 4th lol), could sign 5-6 difference making FA's and have a third or fourth place schedule. They could reverse their record next year. I just don't think Jerry and Stephen will do it

I don’t know. Too many holes. No Demarcus Lawrence next year. We need two new defensive tackles and do depth beyond those two we get. Will have to replace the right side of the line as Martin and Steele are not playing great. Probably need a safety or two and probably a slot corner as I believe Lewis leaves. Not to mention a starting caliber running back. Those are at least 6 to 7 starters needed. I don’t know. We would have to luck out on every pick and we have not been good the last two years in the draft.

That's my argument for Lance. You would need to completely change your offense, but a good coach could do it. If Mac asks Lance to throw the ball 53 times then Lance will have 4-5 turnovers, but that will be on Mac's dumbass, not on Lance. Tomlin won low scoring field goal games early on this year with Justin Fields by running the shit out of the ball. If we ran it 70% of the time we would at least give our defense some rest and punt the ball instead of hand it to the other team deep in our end. It wouldn't be any worse

No running game, horrible backup QB, your second best receiving option out for the game, a defense that will struggle to keep them pinned deep if you aren't successful, let's go for it!!! But, when you have 3 wins, WTF...go for it if you want. Try to win a game even if in a little overaggressive way. If you are going to go for it, wouldn't this have been a good time for Lance to run a play? I have to imagine they have a bunch of 2 pt conversion type plays designed for him. This would have been a good time to run one. Line up and if you don't like the defensive set, try to draw them and if not kick the FG. But, did anyone think we were likely to succeed on that play? If you want to be aggressive, be aggressive

He also said Cooper Rush would remain the starter because he gives us the best chance to win(how do we know that), that we have the 6th most wins since the last Super Bowl(actually 11th), and that we have "been right there around the rim" when it comes to winning a Championship. In other words, he is doing a great job, he just needs another puppet coach to manage the great players on the roster he has assembled

Never using Lance in short yardage or goal line now that Dak is out is mind boggling to me. I think the Texans figured out the formula late in the game that teams will start using. Bring heat against Rush(He's a statue), double Lamb and press cover everyone else. His arm strength isn't going to beat right coverage and he gets balls batted down or is sacked at a high rate

I was all for taking the points off and then going for it on 4rth and 2. I knew when it was 3rd and 15 and Rush finally threw one over 10 air yards and it was completion , Coach Mac was in trouble. 4rth and 2 with no threat of a run was going to be tough. To me though he had to do it because he already took a 64 yrd fg off the board. We needed big points. The only thing i didnt like was the play call. Rolling Rush out pretty much took half the field away. Us not converting probably sealed our fate but was 3 points really going to win us the game. We lost 34-10. Sure there will be arguments that it would have cut it to one score, this and that. Just my opinion of course.

As far as Lance vs Rush - i see a little Deja Vu happening here and oddly enough it happened on Parcells watch. Testeverde had been our QB all year. Fans were dying to see Drew Henson. Thanksgiving Day it happened . The Tuna went with Henson only to watch him play horrible , until he decided to bench Henson and go back to Vinny. Vinny led us to victory that day and was QB1 the remainder of the season.

There are certain throws he is ok at. He simply does not have the arm to fit throws into tight windows on intermediate and deep routes. He threw behind the receivers way too often. Time to play Lance and see if he can be a backup QB.
