If for some crazy reason, Detroit let him hit the open market in 2013... I'd be all about giving up the Franchise Tag draftpicks. Assuming by then the 49ers still don't have a #1 and he hasn't had any major injuries.

I'll say this, it is a good thing the 49ers can still apply pressure without sending blitzers. Definitely need that extra DB back there against the Saints.
