I think we just dried up the jinx well.

So, what happens, happens. Enjoy your team's breaking of our streak.

More jinx attempts. Of course you realize I was referring to the shutout streak, not the winning streak. So did the jinx gods. :L

Yep. The streak had to eventually end. I'm just glad that it happened to a team that I like.
I don't think I like them anymore.

So we were all pulling so hard for an Iginla goal, and got it. So the hockey gods figured we were happy and left us.

One hell of a run Pens, one hell of a run.

Nobody thought the Sabres were going to be the team that finally beats them, but I honestly believe this is the most complete game they've had all Season.

Who knows why, but they were very impressive tonight, and like Dare said, at least Iggy finally got a goal as a Penguin.

Now the Sabres can get back to losing and getting that 1st pick in the draft.

Well, that was a stinker. Didn't have it together from the start. Good game Sabres fans.

What's odd is that the last time the Pens lost before tonight, was to the Canes, 4-1.

Also congrats to Miller for getting a win on the night he passes Hasek for the most games played by a Sabres goalie.

And they were similar games. A few stinker goals, bad penalties, no rhythm.

Congrats Sabres fans

The winning streak was fun, but this could be a blessing in disguise. Now the focus is on fine tuning for the playoffs, and getting healthy. Plus, I kinda like that Lemieux's Pens will continue to hold down the league record, a small consolation for Volek ending that magic season.

This. I sort of wanted the loss before they "beat the streak". Humble pie, shows that issues still exist and need to be fixed, can't mask the mistakes with a W, etc. Sabres played us like the Flyers usually do. Still need some gosh darn discipline.

They definitely have some warts.

Missing Letang AND Martin should have made a dent in them sooner than tonight, but it did show up, finally. They missed that puck moving those two make look so easy. Hopefully Tanger will be back soon, but PaulMart won't be back until next month. Martin was on such a roll, too..

That was a nice ride.. got the Pens in a comfortable spot right now...

But tow things I noticed:
1). Neal better grow up
2.) I have been saying this FOR YEARS (once again I found myself on an island, however this year it seems other folks are paying me a visit) the Pens home crowds are the awful. Plain and simple. I think I heard my mom fart thru the TV broadcast and she lives 35 miles from the arena. Yeah I know the Pens lost, but seriously, you leave, no ovaition for the 15 games they just put together? I thought I finished about the horrible crowds in PGh years ago, but guess not... I was spoiled... 80s and early 90s of cheap seats and drunken fans paved the way for some great atomspheres... I go to the staple center now and that is more lively than PGH arenas... I am thankful folk sin PGH show up at least now... they just have to start particapting now.

That's an interesting observation. With about a minute left in the game I was expecting the crowd to start an ovation to show the team their appreciation for the streak and it never came.

I don't want to bash the Pens fans but did think it was odd and didn't have time to post it after the game...in fact I don't really have time to post now.

Take care folks, I will be traveling today and out of town until Sunday night but will check in from time to time.

Peace.

First game I've attended this year and the streak is broken. I take full responsiblity for the Pens not hitting, skating or fighting for any loose pucks. The Sabres deserved that one, horrible effort by the home team.

Your not on an island. Seen many folks state that especially in the Console since it opened due to the type of folks coming it is not the true/typical fan.

As you know the igloo was a different building and everything was closer so there is some perception behind it. Also the fact the building was designed for the Pittsburgh CLO so the acoustics made certain things louder originally. But back in the 80's/90's it was a different crowd and it did get going in the arena.
