A. They can't re-sign Tallinder.
B. Get someone better (Hamhuis, Kaberle = 98% unlikely).

Lydman was a steady force back there for Buffalo and at three years, $9 mil, I think the price is right IMO.

If they can get Tallinder for the same price I'd be happy.

I can't say that I'm overly surprised that the Sabres' top-two offseason UFAs walked.

The Sabres should have paid the three year $9 mil to Lydman.
