Err, yea, Rutgers I meant.
Maryland and Rutgers are AAU members....for some reason it means everything to the BigTen.

Ask any Clemson, Virginia Tech, Florida State or Georgia Tech fan how much they LOVE the situation. I would step out in a heart beat. I loved the addition of Pitt, from an academic, historical, and culture fit, but Cuse?, UCONN?, USF? NO!
Get me to the B1G or SEC.
Since the rise of the SEC the ACC can't win the recruiting battle in their neighborhood.
The fallout from this is going to be HUGE. The Big East is probably going to make a play for the basketball schools, FSU/Clemson will reach out to the Big12, but where does a Miami go? GT? Does VT really want to go to the B1G or the SEC?

The thing is, your athletic conference never comes up when we write or review grants.
Not really. Nebraska hasn't ever been CLOSE to being an AAU school.
Nebraska was an AAU school until 2011.
all the conferences need to get in a room and work this out once and for all.
IMO i think 16 team conferences is ridiculous but until some conference commissioner takes us down that slippery slope im staying at 14 max. This could work...

C-usa and big east are going to have it duke it out over wether houston, smu, memphis, and ucf really want to leave. And houston might want to retreat to the new MWC instead of utep too. who knows. but at least the major players get their seats in this scenario.
