100% a Dan deal. Dan wanted what he wanted and would always over pay in salary or trade capital to make sure he got it.

Dan WAS the boogie man. Amazing how fast some people forget.
Fingerprints all over that shit.

this , right here killed him . you cant go through a draft class and not get anything out of it in this day and age
this right here.

while little danny was everything you guys post, and he hammered the Ohio State QB...NOT drafting enough good football players has been pretty constant over the years. THIS IMO is much bigger than who's name is on the head coaches office door.

So how is one to know what was a rivera mistake and what was a snyder mistake?

Was young a Rivera or snyder mistake?
Was Jamin davis a Rivera or snyder mistake?
Going back to wentz over Falco...Rivera or synder?

I apparently don't know and need guidance.

What about Rivera starting gates over Larsen? Is that a Rivera or harris mistake?

Riveras exit interview should be good. I never really made any mistakes..I simply did what the owner told me...unless it was a good idea..it was my idea.
Rivera has been here 4 years .... Snyder was here for 24 Years ... I'll let you do the math.

Additionally I did not make those other insulations. No wonder you always feel attacked. You want to be surrounded by yes men.

Attacked...yes, being called a vulgar term when I was posting on another board is being attacked.

I don't care if people agree with me or not. As pointed out, I am generally right about what I post about. I was one of the few...outside of sty who claimed the rivera hire was a bad decision. In disgust, I left the board because I was angry at watching the team erode.

You are right and thanks for pointing out the obvious. Snyder is the boogie man.

Maybe we can pin the ice age on him?
Maybe he was on the grassy knoll?
Maybe he knows where Hoffas body is?
If we are lucky, he can lead us to who killed Nicole brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman?

Sorry for testing the snyder boogie man theory. Lesson learned! I was an idiot.

Again, I did not use your name, Maybe you felt guilty and so you figured you needed to respond.

As far as the vulgar name you asked dad to lock that thread but felt the need to bring it up. Well the truth is as I said at the time I could have handled it better but I was not sorry for it.

Hit me with some more football knowledge RR and Wentz suck right?

You did apologize and it's all good. It's not a big deal and it's water under the bridge. I have called people names as well...i was wrong as well. Nobody is perfect. We are all guilty of it.

Truth be told, I don't like snyder. I have said that a million times. I don't think anyone here likes him...I hope not.

Where I disagree with posters, and they are welcome to disagree with me, I dont think snyder was involved in everything with this organization.

Did he demand the wentz trade....maybe. Not saying it's impossible.
I simply don't believe it. My opinion. I think snyder has pulled crap, but I think that largely if not entirely went away when Rivera came. I think he was scared of rivera and was worried about covering his tracks. My opinion and i could be wrong.
I think Rivera made his own mistakes without snyder stepping in. I have no evidence either way.

I never said he was involved in everything. I said what we talked about was typical Snyder ..... I know that he thought he had his QB in Wentz.

RR has made his share of mistakes, that's up in four weeks.

You weren't the only one who eased up on Snyder since he has been gone. That is your right but he is the one that put this team, stadium, name etc where it is now. I will never forgive him.

Not sure how I am easing up on snyder...but we are entitled to our opinions.

Not being combative. I am glad he is gone.

I think the rivera tenure points out 2 things for fans and posters.

1. The importance of a GM.
No coach should be a GM period. When this was announced, I threw my hands up and knew it would not work. I was confused why there was any ounce of excitement of having Ron rivera as a GM. To this day, I never received an explanation regarding why anyone thought that it was going to work.
GM and coach are 2 different skill sets. Coaches coach, and GMs build rosters. It's pretty simple actually.
Imagine if a GM combined roles and announced themselves as the head coach. Most fans of that team would be up in arms. Why is it not the same for a coach centric model? Coaches are more worried about loyalty than talent and make personnel decisions based on what they want...not what they need.
Bottom line, it was doomed to fail from the start and it was plain as day. If you fail to build a good roster, you will fail. We literally had a man with zero front office experience in drafting, scouting, and free agency calling the shots. The results speak for themselves.

2. We cannot keep looking for a savior and tabbing anyone who walks through the door as the annointed one.

Expectations can we a bad thing. Ask any kid at Christmas...lol
Some fans and posters tend to overhype the new coach or qb with this organization. Not everyone of course, but there is a mentality that the next savior just walked through the door. Wentz and EB are good examples. Wentz was never going to be the franchise qb and EB was never going to get the team to lead the league in scoring. I think fans of bad teams tend to do this.

Believing rivera was going to turn it around and be irrational about is a receipe for frustration. What had rivera done to merit the exciting praise? Nothing...no data supports the reason to be over joyed with the hire. I saw some fans clinging on to rivera still he would turn it around even up to about a month ago.

If we hire Mike Tomlin for example, yes, historical evidence would suggest that there is reason for excitement. Hiring a mediocre retread coach or Santa Claus is not a reason to get excited and to create unreasonable expectations. It is just setting yourself to be frustrated and disappointment.

Those are my 2 biggest takeaways I saw in the fanbase during the beginning, middle, and end of the rivera tenure. People probably don't want to hear it but there it is.

What has happened doesn't matter now, it is about looking forward to a new ownership group is going to do. All signs point to Harris instituting a FO as you suggest GM, HC .... good chance there is a President above that. I will wish RR and whoever else good luck three weeks from now and look forward to a new future.

There has been a lot of emotional blood spent on this debate going on 4 yrs . When you have 2 sides ( me included) that have debated bitterly about a topic it just doesn’t go away in an instant . Most ( including me ) just can’t move on as if nothing ever happened. When it’s let go depends . I said years ago I would keep bringing up KC just because other people in my he debate won’t say they simply didn’t like the guy personally and it clouds their judgement on his real value . That’s just me showing my ass and the fact I will do what I say until I run it into the ground and back

One last thing, I said what I said because I am not sure we won't go through the same exercise when the new coach GM and head coach is hired.

I am excited as the next fan, but making absurd predictions and pushing them on everyone, rubber stamping every front office decision and hyping the move up, and basically being a zombie when it comes to the organization leads to unnecessary contention and confusion in my opinion.

I hope we hire Adam peters and Ben Johnson. If we do, let's ride! I am not going to make unreasonable comments and call out posters who aren't as excited as me about it.

You nailed it when you said a lesson in overhyping. Were lesson learned? We will see shortly!

We are all excited and want to win...however, being unreasonable and not making over the top predictions year after year is irresponsible.

My 2 cents only.

In part I get that. I was the lone person on this site celebrating the draft of Cousin's when everyone else was hollering why did we waste a draft pick. Yes I occasionally mention but it is not my mantra.

So let's celebrate all the excellent moves made by Sndyer et al. Spurrier, Jeff George, Haslett, Griffin, Sanchez and so many more .... it was ONLY RR and Wentz that sucked. :hmm:

You do you, I'll do me. <shake>

Doubtful that you were the lone person on the site that applauded the drafting of Kirk Cousins, but you sure do continue to have the largest mancrush on him currently, that’s for damn sure.

Revisionist history, in my opinion.

On the other hand, I’m not sure what’s to
be gained by debating with you about you being his greatest supporter, so let’s just say you did support him the longest, and the mostest, and the craziest, and the bestest.

You win!

Among all longstanding soortshoopla members, you are the gayest for kirk cousins in the history of sportshoopla!!!

So funny you have given people shit on this site for not being of LGBTQ+ people but are calling me gay. What a fucking hypocrite.

Once again I wrote an innocent post ... no clue why dad felt like he needed to jump in. I if you want to take sides .... I'll be around.

Tell me again for the 495739475934574 time how RR and Wentz suck. I know you need to stroke your ego.

Snyder's fault or Rivera's fault. Does that really make a difference? Snyder was a spoiled brat who knew nothing about putting a team together. He was more interested in making headline moves. And whatever mojo Riverboat may have had when it came to building a successful franchise. He left that shit somewhere else long before he got to Redskin Park. A Snyder move, a RR move, a Snyder n RR move, it didn't make a difference. They never reaped any benefit for the Skins. That's cuz neither one knew WTF they were doing. One is already gone and in 4 weeks or so, It can't get here soon enough.
