Yeah, there's really no sugarcoating it. Just an awful loss that isn't going to be replaced until he comes back, hopefully, in September.

Ventura is pulling a Brett Saberhagen after winning the WS MVP. Trying way too hard to prove he is an ace and shows visible frustration when it doesn't come as easy as his rookie year. His peripherals are a lot better than his ERA (which is really weird with the defense behind him) but bottom line, and the primary issue with him, is his mechanics are inconsistent and he is fastball happy. Today was a pretty good example- excellent for 4 IP- complete implosion command wise in the 5th. I don't think it's a "can't make it past two turns," it's a consistency problem.
