Good Lord! Man, you've been going through it!

I'm only a couple of years younger...but feel extremely blessed physically in comparison...I've got old HS basketball injuries that were probably never properly fixed...a knee and ankle....the knee that can swell up a little from time to time if I put too much on it, but it's rare that happens...my big issue from a golf standpoint is back related. I think my days of beating balls 3 or 4 days a week, and playing 36 holes a day are practically over.

Just wait, not only do the injuries keep piling up, every injury you've had before decides to revisit you.

Got a shot of cortisone in the knee yesterday. Fingers crossed as it takes a few days to know how much relief it might give but it's better already.

Hope to play the weekend.

It's been a couple of years since my wife and I have walked 18 holes due to my lower back affecting my glute muscle.

Did just that on Thursday and yesterday.

Thursday a 38 on the front and a 46 on the back, yesterday a 40 on the front and a 45 on the back.

Back is harder but i think the higher scores are more due to fatigue..although those scores are also more the norm this year.

One thing that's helping is the fairways are dryer and I'm now getting more bounces and rolls.

39-41 yesterday...one of my better rounds at the home track...it was bettered by 38-41...for the overall and a +1 37 on the front, but he couldn’t hold on shooting 46 on the back, so my 80 did beat somebody...lol

Humid, but otherwise nice temps...got finished in 3:40...on Saturday that’s great.

Good playing.

The home course The back has a slightly higher degree of difficulty. Par 71 track. The back is par 35 and has three par 3 holes...all are tough, but 11 and 13 you would take bogey and move on to the next hole. You get a one sided miss to have any chance of up and down...the wrong sided miss is dbl or worse most of the time. And at 190-200 and 170-190 yards respectively you’re coming in with something fairly long...10 is brute and 18 into the wind can be a brute.

Anytime in the low 40s is a good score on the back.

Home course had a shotgun tournament yesterday, but we were able to play the back nine because there was an opening between the groups.

Started with four straight pars and parred five out of the first six. Both firsts for me. Once we caught up with other players in the tournament the pace really slowed down. Bogied the last three holes for a 40.

Damn, just missed a couple of putts that would have enabled me to get in the 30's. Now if i could just put 18 holes together...

Good playing.

18 holes...certainly understandable why you don’t do 18 more often, but that’s what it’ll take...gotta do it more often.

Been trying different things with my driver. I still hit the ball with a descending blow which can cause it to balloon up in the air. Tried a little spine tilt at address and it seems to have brought the ball flight lower. Feels weird.

Does anyone else do a spine tilt with the driver.

Played the back nine again, had a chance to break forty and i choked on 17, duffed an easy chip and three putted for a double bogey and ended with a 41.

Starting to work out the kinks with the spine tilt on the driver, but I have sooo much shit going through my head on the back swing I forget to do something once in awhile.

Not intentionally, but in my setup I was taught when I put my RH on the club, my right shoulder is lower than my left shoulder creating this spine tilt away from target that I think you're speaking of.

My challenge being a taller player I guess is turning around this tilted spine and maintaining the tilt through impact. Every so often I'll stand up in the shot.

I've had some August golf, but no golf last week for me.

We're still in the midst of the Dog Days Of Summer here...if I can't get out by 8 or 9, I'm kinda passing on golf right now. We'll have to see how this weekend goes...haven't gotten the word on a tee time for Sat yet.

September is still hot, but considerably better than August. MAR-May and Sept-Nov are the best weather periods for golf down here.

shot a 45 last night after about a month of playing shitty shitty golf

shots were coming off clean, only a couple miss hits...putting sucked though. Partially because the greens were dying and it really is tough to gauge speed on those fuckers, but also because I was pushing the ball on longer putts. Gross

lipped out 2 birdie putts.

Made an effort to having better posture when swinging, which puts a better face on the club at impact. Still hoping that will help with the slice on my driver.

Today was my third day of walking pain free so we're teeing off just after 3 tomorrow for my first 18 in a long time. Phil says the course conditioning is just ridiculous right now. I hate to go snob but it's a whole different world from munis.
