Been practicing a contact drill damn near before every iron shot. Still not making great contact but much better.

Chipping has improved as well, keep the club moving and don't let it slow down through impact.

Played nine holes yesterday and shot a 39, not often I break 40.

Played 8 holes last night with no wrist pain so maybe I've gotten ahead of it.

I was playing with Phil & Joe. On the 15th tee Joe suggests that we play the last 4 holes for beers.

#15
Me: par
Joe: Par
Phil: bogey

#16
Me: bogey
Joe: par
Phil: par

#17
Me: birdie
Joe: bogey
Phil: par

#18
Me: birdie to finish -1
Joe: par for +1
Phil: bogey for +2

NEhomer drinks for free!

Hit the ball solidly and no pain walking or in the wrist. Today marks exactly 2 months since my operation and I think I'll be able to start entering scores again very soon. It's nice to be back at it.

Go figure...metro ATL has been dry as AZ for the last month, literally no rain...my 3 day tourney starts tomorrow and we have rain in the forecast all 3 days. Thursday might not be too bad, could miss us, but Fri & Sat both look wet.

Some of the guys that flew in early are playing a practice round today. I played Sunday...43-44 so I will let that be my last round...I was going to hit a bucket during lunch today, but I will be looking for a pair of rain pants instead....my jacket is okay

Well...we needed the rain, and everybody will be dealing with it.

Well...the tourney is over.

Rain shorten to 36 holes of the planned 54 so no championship round. The flight leaders after 36 were the winners.

I played badly the 1st day shot 46-46, for a +20 92....this was 20th out of 28 players. This was an easy course...I really stunk it up tee to green and on the greens...given that I played in the top flight last year, one would have thought I was sandbagging, but I wasn't...nerves I guess. Low medal shot a 73 and I was in his group for day two. Determined for a better showing on day 2, I started with 4 straight pars, +7 over the last 5 and ended the side with 43 and my bad play continued on the back with 49 for another 92. Even though I had the same score, I was striking the ball much better than day one...lost some strokes to lack of course knowledge or course management.

But, the increase in degree of difficulty was pretty drastic...13 players broke 90 on day 1....6 of those players didn't break a 100 on day 2. So my 184 aggregate moved up to 12th overall landing me in the 3rd flight...the leader of that flight had a 182...making him the winner.

Bittersweet...I thought I had a good shot to win the 3rd flight, but rain came down in buckets on Friday night so the course was very wet already and it was already raining again by 7am and a flashflood warning issue for that area. Course was not going to be playable for several hours, so with some guys having Sat evening flights it was called pretty early in the morning.

Fortunate it was here in the metro this year, so I was back in the car for the roughly hour and a half rain soaked drive home...wondering what might've been.

After breaking 40, I went on to post 48's on back to back days.

It took me awhile to figure out why everything was fading. I have a tendency to roll my wrists on the takeaway and really open up the face of the club. I need to feel like the back of my left hand is pointed more towards the ground then up towards the sky.

Made the change and shot a 44 over nine yesterday. Would have shot better but my tee shot off a par three didn't carry the water (very windy day) and a couple of missed putts inside of ten feet.

Chipping and pitching is getting better, my SW works better chipping from heavy rough than my LW and my GW is better for doing lower pitch shots. I just need to quit trying to force a single club into doing everything around the green.

1,000 things can go wrong with a golf swing, which is why it's so rare when everything is right.

I invited a fellow from work to play this week. He thought I meant the old muni we played a couple of years ago so he showed up in jeans. It was quite the scramble to get him some pants Lol! (Dude lives over an hour in the opposite direction) Phil wears the same size and was playing with us so he loaned him a pair...weird to meet a guy and borrow pants from him!

He was blown away by how nice my club is.

I hate you, I'd love to shoot that score.

I went 46-45, believe it or not i was happy with it, even though my wife shot an 88. Very windy, and longer and narrower fairways than our home course.
