Hit it sideways yesterday and somehow managed an 84. I just can't get my driver swing back.....posting up on the new hip is just unsteady.

Gotta play again tomorrow....fingers crossed.

I know the feeling, how we got there matters, but they all count.

My crew are out of town this weekend and I'm interested to see if I will back up my 87...walking on...right now I'm in the 3rd in a 3some. Reunion Golf Club is the track today...in our rotation, imo nicer than our home member track (greens still wacked from May aeration) this one still has bent greens, challenging, lots of elevation change...off at 8:12 to beat most of the heat...we shall see how I do.

Overall pleased...42-40...the good...birdie on 10, a short par 5, 470, just missed eagle, followed that with a nice 9i par 3 about a 70' drop to the green, bad par, just miss back to back...10 GIR...iron play best I've had this yr so far.

The bad, 1 ball OB off tee, the worst, a par on 18 and I shoot 38 on the back...par 5 502...good drive, so-so lay up, fanned my approach from 145 in the FW into a bunker opposite very wide green some 40 yd to flag...terrible lie, out low and running and I thought it was great until it kept going...into another bunker...longer story short, dbl and 40.

In spite of that bad 18th approach I hope to build on that iron play.

Striking the ball better, but still not scoring better....grrr.

Shot a 44 over nine yesterday, but i had to sink two long putts on the 8th and 9th holes to do it.

A 42 on the back nine on Friday and a 42 on the front nine yesterday. Iron play is improving...narrowed my stance a bit and I'm making better contact, though sometimes my feet turn out on me and i really pull the ball.

Gonna play 18 this afternoon. Not too confident with the driver but I'll slash out some mid 80s garbage and chug a few brewskies afterward. There's folks having shittier days than that~

Well what the hell, I actually played pretty well yesterday. I managed the driver well enough for another 80. Kinda bummed that I couldn't shave off just one stroke but I made a clutch sandie from a downhill lie at the back of a deep bunker on 18 to win our four ball match for beers. Also, of the group of all single digit handicaps, I was medalist for the day as nobody could really get anything going so there's that. Phil was scoring well till going triple/double on 16 and 17 for an 81. The other guys were also low 80s.

Can't feel too badly...iirc you play mostly 9 hole rounds maybe once or twice a week.

That's very similar to me...I play 18 holes once a week mostly...that equals not being consistent.

That was my fifth straight day of playing...and also hit the gym each of those days...I think between all that and the humidity, I just plain ran out of gas.

FWIW...this JUL/AUG time frame is not ideal for midday or afternoon golf down here...I try to get out by 8a or not at all....100+ deg heat index the last week here.

The sun, the moon and the stars all were in perfect alignment apparently.

Not quite on a whim, it was planned I guess, but I had a cousin in town, and I got a get off early hall pass so around 1p yesterday, we booked a 3:15 tee time at Reunion Country Club. One of my buddies that works from home was able to join us.

The reason for my comment about the moon and stars, it looked like a total rain out on the Monday morning weather forecast for Tuesday so I didn’t bother to make a time. By Monday evening the forecast was 80% rain, but now it was mostly in the morning and late afternoon was supposed to be good. They got that part mostly right because by 1p it was still raining lightly and I made the time...perfect weather, low humidity and 82...not your typical July day in North GA.

The other part was my freakin golf game…40-39…first sub 80 round this year! Just goes to show you don’t need to hit it great to break 80…I think I hit 11 GIR which is good for me. I had a dbl, a triple and 4 bogeys, but of the 7 greens I missed…I got it up and down 5 times....that kinda offset that dbl and triple.

Anyway...fun day on the golf course.

worst 9 holes I have played all season last night. Not making good contact and my putts were all weak as fuck. The course was a bit overgrown, like the mowers were down or something, but no excuse. First time playing in a while, so maybe I should have hit the range first. Certainly would have helped my cause.

A little redemption. Played a different course yesterday, it's longer and tighter than my home course and the greens are faster and none are flat. I have trouble breaking 45 on nine holes there, shot a 43...I was very happy with that score.

Supposed to have a lot of rain today, so my 2:42 tee time is in jeopardy.

85 is solid. Nice to be young, with a golf game like that!

The follow up to my 79 last week...back at the home course for the 1st time since late April...greens are still not back as they were (really ruined the whole summer...that greens keeper should be looking for another job)

Anyway...41 lost the front by a shot...48...got torn apart on the back...89...just couldn't do anything well...I'm chalking it up to the heat....it wasn't terrible by North Georgia standards, but was 90 with 95 heat index.

I wasn't able to play all week due to a Meniscus injury to my right knee.

.....it's just ridiculous at this point. Can you sit to play shuffleboard?
