Chad Kelly certainly has something to prove.

Quoting Chad Kelly: "God is for giving chances."
I personally would have preferred that he took some responsibility for his fall from grace. Just saying, "Some things you can't control" isn't taking responsibility.

But really glad he fell to us all the way to Mr Irreverent, I mean Mr Irrelevant!

Yeah - I picked up on the denial part of his present state of mind as well.

Huh?? He said that about the draft process and being there in Philly; This was as close as I found on your quote:

What transpired Thursday night seemed to help Kelly's draft stock. Three quarterbacks were off the board within the top 12 selections. Each time, the team traded up to land its man.

"You wish you were there," Kelly said Friday, "but you can't control how things happen."

Did I miss something? Because everything I read showed him as someone who really just wanted another chance to prove himself.

The more I read/hear, the more I like this kid.

Chads got talent but he's a prima Donna whack job. Threatened to shoot up a local bar with his Ak after he got tossed, then stormed the field of the high school game looking to brawl. He's a nit wit. Then he says it's because of his injuries he fell? No Chad, it's because your a dopey bastard refusing to take accountability for your stupidity.

Got to admit he has fire !. Besides if a couple instances of stupidity defined us all, you probably wouldn't have gotten the chance to be the admired successful person you are today either. :)

This is not 100% true.. Some of it is, but not the she said, he said stuff. Yes, he got into a fight on a high school footbal field.

Not a huge deal to me. His stuff when he committed to Clemson is more of a concern.

He surely has some immaturity, but for round 7... Last pick... I will take it in a heartbeat. He played like a first round pick his JR year and probably a 3rd/4th rd pick up until this torn ACL last year.

The only issue I have is 3 young QB's 3 talented how much time and effort can we put into each?

The most talented one IMO is Mr. Irrelevant.

Randy gets Siemian
CD can have Lynch

I get Chad Kelly!

He can be as good as he wants to be if he comes in with a good attitude, stays clean off the field and lets his coach, coach him.

:) Don't forget how well Chad played vs Alabama. The kid just needs some positive influence to get his focus in right place and once Lynch is released, he can battle Trevor and he could very well be the next SB winning Qb in Denver :)

I liked the pic for that reason alone once I figured out it was Kelly who did that to Saban. I'll have an everlasting love for any kid who can rip Bama and Saban a new hole.

Don't forget - Kelly may be injury prone and his wrist may not come back to full strength for flinging the football - so there's that. Don't let your hopes run away with anything. DC's point about the draft slot - makes this work so very well. Best last pick of the draft ever by any team - at least by potential.

Listen I hope the kid becomes a Bronco superstar. He's a local kid, his biggest downfall was being Jim Kelly's nephew in this area. He threw that shit around like he was untouchable. And it actually probably hindered his maturity. Hopefully being humbled like this opens his eyes

I dont really care about a tweet from 3 years ago.. He has to grow up no doubt about that and take responsibility.

Let's remember. This is a guy who played like a day 1 or 2 talent a year ago who we took with the last pick of the draft.

Very low risk... High reward.

If we had taken him in the first 3 rounds I would be a bit nervous... Not where we took him. He has the tools to start in the NFL... He needs some coaching and maturity. If he gets those he will be a steal, if not then he is a guy we will look back at and think oh yeah that 7th round pick never turned out. No big deal..

He will avoid the conversations that we often include Paul Toviassi, Marcus Nash, Travis McGriff, Maurice Clarett, Terry Pierce, Jeremy LeSeuer, possibily Sambrailo and Heuerman in... etc... Because if he doesn't turn out as a 7th round pick he really was never a bust because we didn't draft him high enough to be in that convo.

Low rish, high reward QB? Good job Elway. I like the effort.

Yeah, I think that hits the nail on the head. Uncle Jimmy was his get out of jail free card, and he loved to use it. Hopefully, as we've all said, the only thing lingering is his rehab.

Article said his agent called and said Elway wanted to have him if he went undrafted... I wonder just how much interest there was, and if we decided to pull the trigger to eliminate the possibility of losing him.

I wonder who else wanted him.
