This kills me, but I am rooting for the Steelers this week against the Patriots.

Steelers seem comfortably out of reach from us, at least right now, and the Patriots are 6-2 and challenging us for that 2nd BYE week, and I would rather see the Patriots lose than the Steelers in this particular case.

God I hate rooting for the Steelers. Almost no case would I ever root for the Steelers against anyone in the league, but this happens to be one due to the circumstances.

Why not just wait and root for another lower tier team to beat them, outside of our division?

Root for steelers???

Tired of the Patriots hanging around us.

They are loaded with injuries, their offense sucks ass, especially the passing game, and they are still 6-2. I can't even imagine what they will be capable of doing once they start getting healthier.

I just want them to lose now, and begin that trend. Besides, I don't want Pittsburgh getting a top 5 pick either.

I'd rather the Steelers lose...... I hope they lose a ton before we play them in Mid December and I hope Big Ben misses our second game because he is sitting out with a minor injury and they have long been eliminated from the race.

Then again, that would mean we'd face Bruce Gradkowski and I don't think he's ever lost to us.

I'm guessing that Pitt/Cincy match-up won't be a Sunday Nighter...... The flex schedule should kill that one.

It would be silly to not have been rooting for the Steelers in this game. Unless of course YOU put more stock in your emotions than what would be in the Bengals' best interest.

LOL.

It doesn't affect the Bengals best interest if he roots for one team or another. you can root for whoever you want, it literally has no effect on the outcome whatsoever.

That's not what I said.

It was in response to 2 hypocrites in particular claiming yours truly would rather root for Dalton to play bad than see the Bengals win. Apparently, the aforementioned would prefer to root for the Patriots to win as long as the Steelers lose than to root for the Patriots to lose which would without a doubt help the Bengals.

It's probably not a stretch to also assume they'd prefer to see Dalton play well than watch the Bengals win. Just sayin'.

The two have absolutely nothing in common. It is very difficult for some folks to root for a rival.... Or for a team that has caused so much agony in the past. It's nice to know that these people get under your skin though.

BTW -- It's unlikely that NE is going to impact us very much anyway. If we want the second seed, we're going to have to catch Indy to get it. They have a favorable schedule the rest of the way (tough games against the Titans, Bengals and Chiefs - the rest are easy).

The #2 seed ship has sailed. We'll be the #4.

Chiefs
Pats
Colts
Bengals
Broncos
Jets/Browns/Chargers?

They absolutely have something in common. It's not a perfect comparison, but there is definitely one to make. I really couldn't care less what Pittsburgh has done to us in the past.

None of these guys get under my skin. I've never created a thread about anyone else nor ignored anyone no matter how outlandish I thought there opinion was. If you want people that have allowed others to get under their skin, you should look at the guys that have.

I simply thoroughly enjoy calling out people's hypocrisies. Probably part of the reason they can't stand me.

New England should win out easily after their next 2 games - Carolina and Denver. Carolina they get after a bye and Denver they get at home. They are still in play.

Nonetheless, the #3 seed over the #4 seed is still in play against New England.

Don't be so short-sighted.

The first post you made this morning was to 'bump' a post about ignoring you. Clearly it bothers or amuses you.

The idea that rooting against the Steelers is anything like rooting agains the Bengals or any of the Bengals players is ludicrous. I root against the Steelers because I don't want them getting on a roll. I want them so far back that they consider resting an 'injured' Big Ben when we play them in December. I'd like that win. I also hate them and can't stand rooting for them. As for players.... I'd never put my like/hate of a player over and above my like/hate for a team. Players are too transient. I root for laundry.
