I really think Rondo will excell in Dallas

Right fit

He wants a max an is motivated to show he is worth it

I believe you're right. And the night in/night out competition against some of the best point guards is going to fuel him also IMO.

Yeah it really is a perfect fit. Passing PG who plays D and will pass to all those shooters. Ellis will see a lot of open shots.

How could it be superior when the first rounders will be similar? The 2015 Lakers pick, via Houston, will be in the 20s. The pick from Dallas is protected enough to make it a 2016 first rounder. If this works out in Dallas, it will be a late first rounder as well.

I was talking about the Dallas deal being superior overall. He said he thought LA's pick was better. It's not. At best its about equal value. But when you toss in the players, Dallas clearly gave a better deal. Nash is done and his value is his contract coming off the books for cap room (which Boston would have cap room anyway). Wright is a better player than Hill and Crowder is a promising young player as well. Plus, I believe Boston ended up getting a sizable trade exception. The Lakers tried, they just don't have much of anything of value.

Danny had exhausted so many teams looking for the deal.

I think if La threw in a second 1st rounder Rondo would be beside Kobe. That said the trade exception perhaps more valuable as Boston can give up multiple picks and the exception to get a superstar on trade

no not as deep but their starting 5 is better.

I think you underestimate guys like Danny Green and Leonard (who's hurt right now). Do guys like Duncan and Parker really need explanation?

Could not watch the game last night BKS but they did have less assists. That said, I think he is the spark, and let's all remember that Dirk put winning first by taking the pay cut to allow Cuban to pull this roster off in a non destination city

6 points, 9 assists, 7 rebounds, and 2 steals.

Rondo has turned into Ricky Rubio.

In all honesty, I like the trade overall for Dallas, but Boston got screwed.

Dallas got a starter, Boston got backups.

Boston got screwed.

Is a deal for any all star ever fair? You take your 2 or 3 role players and your draft picks.

All you have to do to grade this trade from a Mavs standpoint is ask yourself one question.....come playoff time, do you want the PG matchup to be Chris Paul vs Raymond Felton or Rondo? Russell Westbrook vs Jameer Nelson or Rondo.

Would have loved to have kept Wright, but Boston wasn't giving Rondo away for free. Oneal may be a perfect addition if he ends up signing

I'm not sure Boston got screwed. Yes, they probably should have and maybe even could have, gotten something better for him, but I think timing is part of the problem. A couple of years ago, the Celtics could have gotten a much better deal for him because his trade value was at it's highest.

Now, they were in a position where teams have some concern because of his injury and he is set to be an FA at the end of the season. This way, they got some pieces that they can perhaps move and get assets that will make this look a lot better down the road rather than see him walk while getting nothing in return.

It's potentially similar to the Lakers trade with Memphis that got them Pau. At the time, it looked like the Lakers had raped Memphis. In fact, if memory serves, there were those who said that the trade shouldn't have been allowed. However, that trade included the rights to Marc Gasol and that trade now looks a whole lot better than it did at the time.

Give him the max Cuban! Let's see how good those numbers are in 3 years, he'll be averaging 2 points and 11 assists. He's more deserving of a max contract than Parsons is though, got to give the Mavs that.

You're right BK, Monta did extremely well against the Spurs' bench.

with 1 assist, and ZERO boards. We all knew Ellis is all about scoring the basketball, but 1 assist and no rebounds?

Honestly, why are you so butt-hurt over the Celtics? You posted probably 30 times in this thread that Boston got screwed. Ok, we get it, you hate the Celtics and think this was a bad trade for then.

Now....STFU

"the best starting 5 in the West" just lost to the Hawks at home. Parsons 2-6, earning that 15 mil salary.
