how about , cincy , detroit tampa down 24 and made comeback , how about 4 straight wins to get us in playoffs with the season on the line

how about getting the game winning drive with the winning FG with 151 left ? this time the defense did its job

he certainly can make plays when it counts and has

Funny, Will Blackmon made comments in the same range today on NFLN.

The defense needs to be able to help the QB out as well. Exact quote. He even mentioned the Detroit game and said.. had the defense stepped up.. we make the playoffs.

Right they haven't that's true... But does that mean Washington should open up their wallets for him?
if we were the pats and had a good team in place then yes they wouldnt , however that isnt the case . hell the only offer was a low ball

Washington already HAS opened up the wallet. He is being paid $24M as a one year rental.

Yeah this is true it was a low-ball offer but has ownership ever given a "quality" offer to anyone?

I can name 3-5 teams that would have signed him long term in a heart beat. Washingon didnt because Bruce Allen is a dufus, and Kirk isnt cool enough for the owner or a portion of the fan base.

Come on man, they just made an average at best RT one of the top five paid at his position. If Dan and Bruce LIKE a guy, they have no problem overpaying them.

Kirk Cousins, Redskins fail to reach agreement on deal

so he was offered 22 million per year ok maybe he is over pricing himself if that was no where close to what he wants

It's not the 22 million that's not enough. Guaranteed money is really the only thing that matters in football. I'm willing to bet the guaranteed money was not very good.

People pay too much attention to the main number. For instance, Jay Cutler's contract on the surface appeared to be 7 years for 126 million. Where it was only only 3 years for 54 million (18 mil per), because that's what was guaranteed. Completely front-loaded, with nothing guaranteed past a few years.

Washington seems to have a problem committing to Kirk long-term, and I'd wager they front loaded that 5 year offer. Making it really only two years, or something like that.

What?

It's been made very clear he wants a contract. That's why this whole thing is such a big deal.

Kc takes out an insurance policy this year if he gets hurt. Even if he plays bad its been reported that the 49ers would still pursue him. KC and his agent is playing this all right.
So why doesn't every star player do this when their contracts expire if it is such a good idea?

You didn't predict anything most of us didn't expect.

The difference is you thought the FO would make a fair offer...the rest didn't.

Assume the position for Bruce.
There goes dean again, patting him self on the back for making a prediction that most of us said it wasn't going to happen also. The difference is that most of us said it wouldn't happen because the FO would never make an acceptable offer (which is what happened) as opposed to dean who said it wouldn't happen because KC wouldn't sign an acceptable offer (speculation). But dean once again claims he was right. What a tool.

sorry he wasn't turning down 24mg.

By signing an extension, he isn't turning down 24 million. Had he been offered a five year extension worth 124 million, with an additional 35 million guaranteed, that would have been close to getting the deal done.

Follow me here...that would be 60 million guaranteed fully at right around 25 mil a season for six seasons.

KC may have came back and asked for 70 mil guaranteed fully so there is a SB in there. Fair offer.

He threw Kirk (or Kurt as BA calls him) under the bus by announcing the numbers in the contract offer. What they were hoping to do was make themselves look good. They failed. Everyone with half a brain knows this was a low ball offer and that Bruce was trying to make Cousin's look like the bad guy. Simple addition told you all he offered was the tag he is already signed for this year and the transition tag next year. After that he could be cut at little to no cost to the Redskins.

We will never know but he the FO offered $25 million a year for three years guaranteed Cousin's and his agent might have accepted. Since they only offered the tag for this year and next year why would Cousin's want to sign on for something he already has.

Had Bruce been smart he would have said something like "we tried to reach a long term deal and will continue to do after the season is over." Instead he said "we offered a shit ton of money and Cousin's didn't want it. Same old dumb shit by the Redskins front office.
