When did I associate intelligence with his color? You did that.

I associated his speaking with sounding less intelligent.

His speaking has nothing to do with his race...unless you are saying black people speak a different way.

Actually, in alot of cases.. we do.

Research the offense, Petrino is running a lot of pro-style stuff.

No QB anywhere calls their own plays anymore.

I am sure you have watched plenty of college football where everyone goes to the line, they wait for the defense to show itself then the coach signals in a play. I don't know how much responsibility he had to change the play but I don't think many college QBs get to audible a lot. Every college QB has to learn to play in the NFL. One of the things that is most essential to playing on that level is the ability to process information and make a proper decision in just a couple of seconds. The next biggest thing is accuracy. I am sure you had to do that a bunch gk, Make a decision and be accurate on landing.

I wasn’t referring to calling his own plays or audibles...I am referring to relaying the plays to his teammates. Doesn’t Oregon have the coaches relay the plays from the sidelines to the entire team.

The ability to process information is one of the reasons the wonderlic is important.

Really?? So, tell me why is the RPO the hot new (actually old) thing in the NFL game? There's a huge difference between a running QB and one that's able to run. They will be concerned just as much in the NFL about his ability to run because of this. Football is a Spartan sport, you don't have to be anything other than, to coin a term, "football smart" in order to play the game. He's that.

Because it is just another variant to the WCO. The RPO is meant more for a handoff or pass than a QB sneak.

Time will tell. History says I will be right. Maybe history will be wrong.

Oh, I think he has an incredible upside. I just doubt he ever reaches it.

Serious questions...

Who claims it is a complex offense?

Didn’t he have some turnover issues?

Who called the plays, him or the sideline?

Ive seen a lot of people talk about Petrino as running a very complicated offense and that he worked to incorporate even more pro concepts for Jackson this past year.

27 picks in 38 games. That would be 11 in a 16 game season. And Id say its a lot more likely for him to throw a pick as a result of a good decision but poor throw or a teammate screwing up than because of a bad decision.

He called plays from what I can tell. Also had the freedom to audible.

You aren’t bothering me. You are showing how much of a snowflake you are though. When I mention race, in any manner other than statistics, let me know.

People like you don’t really bother me. In case you didn’t notice, others are already calling you out on the instigation.

Calls were definitely coming from the sideline but from what I can tell it was Jackson who was relaying them to the offense (at least a fair amount of the time). And I believe he did have the freedom to audible.

I will say the accuracy thing with him does seem to be largely due to footwork and having a very narrow base more so than an issues with his arm or throwing motion.

That is why I asked the question. I don’t know anything about Petrino’s system.

Weren’t the turnovers bunched up against good defenses?

Do you believe him?

That question is why I said you are trying to start a fight. No matter what he says you have your mind made up and you want him to say what you want to hear. If you don't believe him that is your right. What I don't care to see is the 5th grade game of "Just say it!" Invite him to your board it you want to have a fight. We don't need this crap.

I dont think relaying info on a piece of paper is like relaying info on a football field. Look at Ryan Fitzpatrick. Went to Harvard and was routinely a horrible decision maker who couldnt process info on the field.

Actually, in alot of cases.. we do.

I know people do. I am simply saying I didn’t.

There are a lot of very well spoken black men such as Obama, Thomas Sowell, and Ben Carson. There are a lot of poorly spoken white people. How you speak does affect the way people perceive your intelligence, regardless of color.

Not really. Hes only had 3 multi INT games the past 2 years. 2 of them were against Kentucky and Kent State.

One was against Mississippi State in the bowl game this year which is the only one that would really apply as a good defense (they were a top 10 defense last year). He threw 4 in the game but at least 2 were not his fault. I know 1 was and I cant remember on the last one. Also had a perfect anticipation pass where he threw his receiver open in the end zone that was dropped. His numbers were bad but he wasnt bad in the game (not that he was great either).

We can all surmise on anyone in the draft. Until they get on the field we won't know for sure. I think being drafted 32nd might be a blessing for Jackson. He won't have the pressure to start right away because he is a very high pick. I don't think Jackson will learn accuracy from Flacco. LOL I do think and I know Sty has advocated this many times for young QBs, he will get some time to learn the pro game (hopefully) instead of being thrown right into the fire. Us old guys remember that was the way it was done most times back in the day and as ehb would tell you ... all QBs had to do back then was hand off. :thumb:

I didn't direct my comment to you but you felt the need to support your buddy. I wasn't the one that called Lamar Jackson stupid.

I didn’t say it was guaranteed you would make the right or wrong decision bas3d on the wonderlic test. I am saying it is a tool. Has there ever been a successful QB with a 13?

Here is the thing dude, associating how someone speaks with how intelligent you think they are comes real close to associating ones color with their potential to be say, a criminal.

But IM really in no mood to go there.

The college game is replete with QB's who can run, the Peyton Manning types are few and far between now, the NFL will, in fact is adjusting to and better utilizing QB's who can run. So let me ask you, right now, isn't it a fact that most NFL teams have QB's who can run on their rosters.

I believe McNabb and Marino had really bad scores.

Fitzpatrick and Gabbert meanwhile had great ones.
