Replacement Officials

I'm going to start out by saying I now have a new appreciation for the real officials. They blow calls all the time, but not at the alarming rate we're seeing now.

I cannot count the number of mind-boggling mistakes/decisions I've seen in just the few preseason games I've seen so far. And not just that, many times they huddle around to discuss calls that would be otherwise simple calls for the real officials, effectively slowing down the game.

These refs will cost a team a game at some point in the regular season. The league needs to pull their collective heads out of their rear-ends.

It's horrendous.... They don't even have the 'next best' refs.... The D1 college officials won't do it, so they're basically using glorified high school refs to call the game. What the hell are they thinking?

I'm guessing that when they go on the field, the grass makes their eyes water, and they just end up throwing the flags and calling penalties to look busy.

I think the replacement officials should be applauded under the circumstances. The old ones were a joke, and their replacements are, um, a joke. It's a win-win situation for all, get rid of the crappy officials for some new blood crappy officials:
