Relocating Hooplan: California Edition

i know we got a few californians on here, i'll soon be one of you.. just got a job offer in Dublin, CA.. little east of SF and a little north of SJ

i'm graduating from VT in a couple weeks and i'm probably movin out there in late june

that being said, anybody have any suggestions on a cool city/town to live in? or places i should avoid?

I should added the other reason my sister in law left was the big quake they had in the bay area back in the 80's during the World Series. Before that she always laughed at me when I brought up living in California and the damn quakes.

She said that was her final wake up call it was too intense and she said she was scared shitless. Stay away from st andreas fault, that pretty much rules out the whole state.

Also my nephew lost a multi million dollar home in the Oakland fires a few years back. As they say a nice place to visit but I wouldn't want to live there.

Also, Awaz, don't get sucked into thinking that you should live in Fremont or Hayward or Castro Valley. Those places kind of suck.

I used to live right near Dublin, danville to be exact, be ready its more expensive than the east coast, yes, but its overall a very nice place to live. Sanjose is just a stones throw away, and SD is actually a really cool city especially around pier 39

Uhh No. I was maybe 8 years old. My family decided to spend Thanksgiving their. We stayed at a Hotel called the Pinewood Inn or something like that. I asked my Grandfather one time why he didn't play any Golf that weekend & he said my Grandmother wanted it to be a family time.
