Good move.

This kid has an air of confidence about him,and now he should do even better knowing they have faith in him.

Some gm's and coach's have to learn to give these guys time to develop. You can't change goalies like you change your underwear, and think they will adapt to your system overnight.

He played pretty well and keep in mind he's on the Leafs! His AHL numbers are pretty solid as well. Beyond the EL contract, you're not paying a goalie with ANY kind of promise anything under a mil anyway.

i guess the deal isnt entirely atrocious

If he completely crashes and burns, his buyout would only be $300K/year since he's under 25 years old.

Not a terrible deal. If he performs, it's a huge win for the Leafs. If he doesn't, it doesn't kill them.

Probably about 400k over what I thought he'd sign for, but then again, I was expecting a 2 year deal, so all in all, this isn't really too too bad. If he plays anything like how he played down the stretch, it's actually a steal.

Sent to Anaheim; not exactly sure what the deal was, though..6th rounder?

So basically if you're taken in by the Leafs and tabbed as the future #1 guy, your career is fucked.
