Del Rio is getting fired it sounds like. Told you he wasn't a very good coach.

Mark even giving him some ownership of the team. Assuming he takes the job.

Thoughts on Jon Gruden becoming the next RAIDER coach cd

Well can't really give much of an assessment until I see his staff. That was one of my knocks on Del Rio was I didn't think he brought in a great staff around him and that he and the entire staff would hold back a team with some talent.

As for Gruden himself he is a huge wildcard. He hasn't been in the coaching game for a while so have to expect there will be a bit of an adjustment period. It could also be that the time away has helped make him an even better coach getting an opportunity to talk with other guys and watch a variety of teams/schemes play and what works and what doesn't. So at this point I would give that hire an incomplete.

There is also talk of firing Reggie McKenzie and Gruden getting GM duties as well. I think that would be a huge mistake if that happens. Going from 0 to all of a sudden you are the head coach and GM of the team just seems like way too much put on his plate day 1.

cd i don't really want to get into a debate about Gruden. Sorry i asked. Let it happen first then ya know im down to debate. Jack can remain the coach if Gruden turns down the job. New OC for sure though if we keep Jack.
Mark wants Gruden that's no secret, reeling him in is a different story. Let's see what happens.

The Raiders are getting ready to make a big offer to Gruden....includes possible partial ownership.

He doesn't deserve to be. 1 bad season after turning us around last season. Musgrave and Downing are bad OC's and JDR made adjustments by firing Norton.

10 years 10 per are some reports. According to the big boys of media Gruden calling around for coaches. Gannon is a name that keeps coming up for QB coach.

Curious......never seen u on KC or LAC boards......why the Raiders?
That's because those boards are lame! :)
This board is where the good action is at.

Gannon would be interesting for sure.
Gannon knows the game with the best of them, and he's intense. Would make a great coach, IMO
Let's see what happens? It should be fun

So the RAIDERS are not bringing Crabs back, eh? That's the word on the street.
Look for the RAIDERS to draft a WR in the first round.

Since Pagano took over the defense it has 30 sacks and 5 picks! Crazy numbers in 5 games.
That's what happens when you use talent correctly. Coaching matters in football.

Guess you haven’t looked very hard then because I do post at the Chiefs board at times. The Chargers board is about as dead of a place as can be so not sure why I would post there.

1-Carroll, Gibbs, and Vermiel all did pretty well returning after a long absence.

2-Gruden isn't going to have to rebuild this team. They are 1 season removed from a 12-4 campaign and have the pieces in place with Carr and a good OL that had a down season. Carr suffered from the most drops in the League and I don't think he's been 100% since getting hurt in 2016. He needs to chill and try and heal this offseason.

3-He has a solid staff already with Olson and Guenther.

4-They do need to try and improve the defense. Carr can't be forced to outscore teams and I'd drop Coop and draft a WR or sign one in FA to go with Roberts and Patterson. Holton showed some potential but he's a 4th WR.
