Good point, Rob!!!
So what's your take regarding your team this year?
Well, I think that the Texans are a lot better than most people realize. 2013 was a disaster because of one word:
turnovers. Not only were they bad at turning it over, they only forced 11 all season as well.
I think quarterback-driven league is a myth. Just look at how Seattle beat Green Bay Thursday. Defense and ball control can still be a very effective formula and the Texans can do that.
Brian Cushing needs to be able to stay healthy all season.
Secondary concerns me, especially with Goofdell's "emphasis" in penalties, although the ones thrown Thursday didn't look too out of control.
Mostly, I think if the defense lives up to hype, this team will shock people.
After all, Trent Dilfer won a Super Bowl thanks to an awesome defense.
Seems like the big Qs are the secondary and the QB play outside of health. Front 7 could be one of the best in the NFL if they meet expectations, they have the talent for.
Don't think Fitz will last all year at that position myself. I'm thinking after the bye week, mallet will be behind center. My opinion only, worth exactly nothing...
I think y'all will probably map out a bit like I suspect we will this season, somewhere between 6-8 wins. Takes time for a new coach and scheme to gel.
Not to mention both of our teams get the luxury of last place schedules. Toss that in and one of us might sneak in a 9-7 record.
