Here is why I say we will win this game.
The coaches know that Robert in the pocket will get crushed vs JJ Watt over Chester/Licht, so they will move him around which plays to his strengths and will allow him to get the ball out to our playmakers. I don't know what to expect with our running game yet, but I am cautiously optimistic. The QB situation in Houston, which can not be good when they make a trade so late in the preseason would have me concerned if I was a Texans fan.

Still, I think we win this one by more than 3 points.

I must admit Dad, this may be the most ridiculous prediction you have ever posted. Maybe your just joking but no way Griffin plays that poorly.

RGIII could just as easily play like he did vs New Orleans in his first NFL game, or he could play like the indecisive deer in the headlights we saw in preseason. Hard to predict. Ultimately it comes down to how important is game planning to both RGIII and to Gruden. And also how much, if any, Gruden sneaks in the little RGIII plays like the zone read that we saw NONE of in preseason, but they loosened up the defenses in 2012 for him to have easier times passing.

One thing is for sure, our defense should look pretty good against these guys. Low scoring game for sure. 8-6 Skins win. We get four safeties, they get 2 FGs on Alfred Morris fumbles inside the 20.

Then its just a handoff

The whole point of the zone read was to freeze the DE/OLB rushing the passer. He had to decide which angle to take which he couldn't do until the QB made his decision. If RGIII doesn't keep a few of them, or if he's gimpy like last year, the indecision is nullified and the pass rush can proceed at full speed. Defenses also started to figure out how to defend it better, by crashing to the spot where the handoff would happen and try to freeze the QB on his decision, but doing that impacts other areas of the defense.

Bottom line is, sprinkling in a few of them where RGIII keeps it can alter how a defense attacks the offense. And any time you can dictate play to the other unit, you are winning at least part of the battle.

I still have no clue what happens on Sunday but I'm optimistic that they look better than they did in preseason. Again, we'll see how Gruden game plans for RGIII and what he does well/doesn't do well. Preseason was for training, now that they count lets see what Gruden cooks up for real.

Why is it ridiculous? Are you suggesting RG3 didn't have three such games last season...Denver, SF, and KC?

Denver- 132 yards, 3 TO, and a QBR of 8...got yanked that game.

SF- 118 yards, 1 int, and a QBR of 9

KC- 164 yards, 1int, and a QBR of 6


If you think RG3 isn't capable of throwing up a stinker, you are a fool. I will go out on a limb and say RG3 has at least 2 fumbles this game.
