So for the 2nd time in two years Forbath is hurt and can't KO, and misses chip shots, and we're OK saying it was because of "injury"?

I'd suffer with Hocker's makes/misses on FGs, he put the KO's in the 1st row.

I don't think you cut him though.

If Kai is not useful as a kicker b/c he's hurt, that's on the coach for not replacing him. He seemed okay hitting the two 40+ ones he hit. He pushed the last one a little.

He's 39 for 45 now as a Skin with 21 attempts of 40 yards or more. That seems pretty solid to me.

Are you for real? Helmet to Helmet contact several times on you guys with no call....The assholes even missed the damn facemask on the punt return, the fans got on them so hard they threw a late flag and called it horsecollar. Brandon Graham Was Mugged on that Helu screen pass and run, he would have made the play, no call. You guys had 2 Shots on Foles that were Very Cheap. That isn't why your Baker and (THE BEST LT IN FOOTBALL) Peters were ejected. You guys lost that game fair and square, it was a great game...Cousins was awesome. We have 4 guys out on our O-line so we were pleased with how well our offense played. your Offense Mauled our defense, but our guys showed up late, and really that was the difference, that and special teams.

Only thing worse than whining after losing... whining after winning.

We KNOW we have an issue with kick coverage. I would take a 50/50 kicker who protects my kick coverage team over a 80/20 kicker who's misses ALWAYS come when the team literally CANT afford a miss. If we are down by 3 and need a FG to tie the game, Forbath will sure as shit clang it off the upright.

Fine. His KO's still suck, when he can actually even try them, so bring in a KO specialist. Our weak KO's and KO coverage has killed us, and could have directly contributed to losing this game.

Yea incidental H2H contact won't get called bud, especially when the offensive player lowers his head. And about the facemask on the Sproles, if a WR drops a catch and the jumbotron shows the DB held the WR, do the refs look at it and throw the flag after the fact?

And really two cheap shots on foles... where? (I'm assuming one was the LEGAL hit while the refs called the play an interception therefore the play was still going on).

And the only reason your OL did so well is because the refs decided to look away everytime they held our DL. Case in point... look at the play where D Rob was called for a PI.. the center blatantly holds our NT and no call, but they call the PI go figure.

check your stats

My bad, that stat is correct.

So he's OK as a FG kicker, but not great under pressure, and can't KO. We need a solution and Tress Way isn't it. His few TB's were line drives that, if caught, are coming back a long way.

i agree with everything you said ...

but if we can take the emotions out of the conversation for a minute & think about it how the coaches do ...

they going to deactivate or cut a player with a groin injury and bring in another player ? ...

because there isn't enough space on the roster to carry 3 kickers.

obviously the coaches thought cutting Forbath wasn't the best decision and rolled with the expectation he wasnt going to be 100% ... wich often football players are not.

They depended on the TEAM to not allow the game to come down to 3 points.

There were too many opportunities to either score more or stop the other teams from scoring to simply point at a blown 33 yard FG as the reason for a loss

That hit by Baker on Foles has NOT been legal since 2002, when Hugh Douglass took out the Chicago QB. And that was when the returner was not yet tackled (while here the returner already was)! So that call was absolutely legit, and a blatant cheap shot. And that - of course - is even accepting the fact that the refs should have whistled the play dead for being incomplete in the first place.

At least one of the H2H was anything but incidental, and clearly initiated by the DB (IIRC the one on Lesean McCoy). And as far as the holding calls go, there was nothing not called against the Eagles that the Redskins were not equally guilty of. And even to balance out your example, on the final Eagles punt, they call the hold on the Eagles, but miss the blatant blocking in the back on the return (so penalties should have offset). That is 40 yards or so right there in favour of the Redskins (or at least a re-kick).

Only thing worse than the "holier than thou" fans is the "it's a moral victory" crowd.

It's holier than thou to say we lose the game, the refs didn't lose it for us?

You should trade in your vagina for a newer model.

Hey jackass, I was proving your point.

I know, but you took a few cheap shots along the way. ;)

None of the legit fans on here are complaining about the refs today. There were a couple missed calls going both ways, the Eagles played better - end of story.

Your PUNTER should NOT be doing kickoffs. EVER. Two entirely different kicking motions. Most teams with a kicker thats worth even half a fuck have their place kicker do kickoffs because its the same kicking motion. forbath doesnt have the leg to do kickoffs which is why Way has been doing them. For the second year in a row he has a groin injury (jack off to much maybe?) And he is about as reliable as you could ask for... right until you need him to be. If the coaching staff thought he was worth a fuck, we wouldnt have drafted a kicker of all things. Sadly the guy we drafted wasnt good enough to take his job. So we got the most accurate kicker we have ever had.... as long as there is no pressure.

I think the Skins played great. They completely took McCoy out of the game. The one thing I think really hurt the Eagles is losing maybe the best LT in the game, having the BEST LG out, losing a top 3 center and also not having a stud RT out due to suspension. They were lucky to get the win. Im debating Foles play cause he was getting pounded yet kept fighting BUT he missed a super easy pass to a wide open Maclin for an 80 yard TD and also had other misses too. The Redskins should be commended because they have by far the best #2 QB in the NFL. Any other team in this league that loses their #1 is cooked. Redskins showed me today that they are for real and 100% will be in the thick of it for the playoff race.

well ... we can agree to disagree on this one.

I played soccer for 10 years.

a kicker is a kicker is a kicker.

By taking the stance that Forbath was not the best choice you all are saying the coaching staff are making bad decisions ... is that what you're trying to say ?

And to the guy thinking that hit was legal, go watch the play again (Hopefully you Tivo'ed it). The guy returning the ball was tackled and going down and 20 yards away from the play he blindsides a QB just standing there. I guarantee he gets fined proving that it was illegal. I have a lot of respect for the Redskins after this game and more respect for the fans rejecting the "cheating refs" theory. Ive heard it for 3 straight weeks now and Im glad the vast majority of you manned up.

Oooooh, and Im still yelling about that incredible shoe string tackle cause Sproles was running that punt back for a TD. Huge stop there cause Sproles was gone!

Yep... because a kicker has two jobs. Make field goals and protect your coverage team. Forbath fails when we need him to make critical field goals, and he cant protect the coverage team EVER.

As for the kickers it really seems like someone out there should be developing the skills to do both. To have a K/P being manned by one guy would be extremely coveted. THats an extra roster spot and a lower cap hit. Im surprised no one has developed that ability cause as you said... a kicker is a kicker is a kicker.

Forbath has to go. I am mad at the coaching staff for letting him kick today when they already knew he was hurt going into the game. Not smart at all. That decision cost us the game.
