Home Runs give credit to the run and RBI stat.

So since JPA has hit 5 more Home Runs. JPA has contributed to 16 Runs

Cerveli? 17...in nearly half the PAs... Runs and RBIs in essence a team stat, but i'm just using it to illustrate the point of the importance of getting on base. Not only does JPA not walk...he hits a for a low average too..

Been saying for years that RBI is over-jetered....not to go completely MPL on everyone, but Runs Created is a much better stat....R+RBI - HR = RC

Runs and RBI are still heavily dependent on those hitting in front and behind you, but RC is a better indication of how a players production translated into runs...
