Sheesh, that FSU drop should be a cautionary tale on letting a coach get stale, and then hiring a guy not suitable for a quick fix.
So that's 12 guys.
Bosa/Haskins - first round picks. Haskins shattered multiple B1G records while Bosa was the NFL DROY
Cooper, Mack, Victor, Farrell, Jordan, Fuller, Pridgeon, Borland, Harrison, Chrisman all multi-year starters, several of which have been all-conference players. Demario McCall has also been our main kick/punt returner for the last 2 years.
That's 13 guys. Again, not only more elite top-end talent, but more depth.
It's remarkable that they could pull in so much talent in recent years, and play in the worst P5 conference in the nation, and still suck so bad. I think Norvell could be the right guy, but you'd think that just on talent alone they could win 8-9 games a year. Instead, they've averaged 6 wins a year for the last 3 years. I'd rather you just post their worthwhile content here, if that's OK.You should subscribe to The Athletic so you can tell them they're doing it all wrong then.
FWIW Michigan's grade was 3.06, Ohio State's was 3.01. It was the slimmest of margins.

If that's it, then the rankings still aren't quite making much sense, but NBD. That was probably OSU's weakest class in recent memory, and it still ended up being pretty good. The WHOLE class, each member of it, is given a score, according to what they did on the COLLEGE field. It doesn't give a single ratz arse what they did in the NFL or where they got drafted.
All-American status earned them 5 pts.
All-Conference status earned them 4 pts.
Regular starter or significant backup earned then 3 pts.
A regular back up earned them 2 pts.
Or something pretty close to that. Can't remember what got them 0 pts? Never played, transferred out, never cracked the 2 deep?

Dude, they make perfect sense.
No one is saying they are a perfect re-ranking system. But it's a system that can be unbiased.
The only bias is that a full time starter for NW in 2019 is given the exact same score as a full time starter for Ohio St when we all know a full time starter for OSU means alot more than being a full time starter for NW in 2019.
Another bias is that an all-conference player playing the MAC gets the exact same score as an all-conference player in the B1G or SEC.
@ericd7633 is what he said accurate? I don't have the athletic. It just doesn't sound like it's everything if this quote describes the ratings. The WHOLE class, each member of it, is given a score, according to what they did on the COLLEGE field. The purpose of this project is to recognize the programs and coaching staffs who do the best job of identifying great players, developing them, retaining them and winning with them
"The point system we’re using for this is no different than in past years. Much like the recruiting industry’s five-star rating metric, we’re using a basic 0-to-5 scale.
5 points: All-American, award winner, top-50 NFL draft pick
4: Multiyear starter, all-conference honors
3: One-year starter or key reserve
2: Career backup
0: Left the program, minor or no contribution"

Truth...with one qualifier. Once a team can compete with another in recruiting, they'll still need an equal or better coach to beat that opponent regularly IMO. Won't beat a team regularly with lesser talent and good coaching. Also won't beat them regularly with equal/better talent and sub par coaching.Michigan signed 0 top 100 players in the #12 class. Ohio State signed 7. That's the difference. We might be able to beat them in the perfect situation, but we won't be able to regularly beat them until we can compete with them in recruiting.
