Talent on a roster is based on a 4-5 year average; not just one class.Sounds good. Lack of talent no longer a viable excuse.

Jordan Fuller has had an outstanding career at OSU and will likely be a 2nd/3rd rounder. Victor actually had a very good OSU career, too. 18 TDs with a YPC average around 16+ yards over basically 3 years is pretty good with how much this team spreads the ball around. Michael Jordan was a first team all-conference in 2017 and first-team All-American in 2018. Malcolm Pridgeon also played every game in his final 2 years at OSU after transferring in from JUCO. Cooper and Mack have not lived up to their recruiting rankings, but they've both been valuable contributors. Throw in Haskins and Bosa, along with Harrison, Borland, and Drue Chrisman, and I'm not sure how you can say this still wasn't a top 5 class.
Yet when we hear that Michigan has one non-top ten class “OH MY GOD WE CAN’T COMPETE WOTH OHIO STATE!!! WE HAVE THE #12 RECRUITING CLASS. IT’S NOT FAIR!!!”Talent on a roster is based on a 4-5 year average; not just one class.
Michigan signed 0 top 100 players in the #12 class. Ohio State signed 7. That's the difference. We might be able to beat them in the perfect situation, but we won't be able to regularly beat them until we can compete with them in recruiting.Yet when we hear that Michigan has one non-top ten class “OH MY GOD WE CAN’T COMPETE WOTH OHIO STATE!!! So it's basically every team's class every year? I look at Florida, Minnesota, and michigan, and don't see anywhere near the top-end talent, nor the overall contribution. That's why these rankings are sort of silly.Yeah OSU had some good players out of this class. They also had just as many not contribute or transfer out of the program.
It's awesome having coaches who know how to recruit.Michigan signed 0 top 100 players in the #12 class. Ohio State signed 7. That's the difference. We might be able to beat them in the perfect situation, but we won't be able to regularly beat them until we can compete with them in recruiting.
I'm not sure that's a fair comparison. There's, what, 2-4 programs that are currently recruiting like OSU? It's a weird catch 22, you usually have to win before you can recruit like OSU. OSU just happens to never have stopped winning in the last 50 years. It's awesome having coaches who know how to recruit.
Before you talk about beating us, maybe you should be concerned about Harbaugh being able to even compete with us. The gap is getting wider, even though you're the second best team in the B1G in recruiting. Wonder why teams like Penn State and Wisconsin don't have that issue?
OSU just happens to hire extremely good coaches, which michigan can't do for some reason. There's a reason Tressel owned you guys in the 2000s even though michigan's recruiting disparity over OSU was way larger than OSU's currently over michigan.I'm not sure that's a fair comparison. Carr was, overall, a fantastic coach. Since he left, though, it's been flop after flop. Harbaugh is better than RRod or Hoke, but that's not saying much. If anything, I'd be worried about Harbaugh fizzling as you get further away from Hoke's recruits. We relied on that Bo lineage for basically 40 years; and even kinda still did with Harbaugh. OSU got very lucky IMO with the Tressel to Urban timing. We'll see if Day can sustain it or if that starts to Fizzle like Shaw at Stanford without Harbaugh.
Of course I don't? So you're saying you do?I don't understand your question. And of course you don't see any of those things. Lol.

Given Harbaugh is 16 years older than Day, that's likely even if both are wildly successful.Carr was, overall, a fantastic coach. Since he left, though, it's been flop after flop. Overall, I think every OSU fan is ecstatic with Day. The turnaround from 2018 to 2019 on both sides of the ball was dramatic, our 2020 recruiting class was top 5, and the 2021 class looks like it'll be at least another top 3 class. My guess is Day outlasts Harbaugh, at least.
So that's 12 guys.Just looking at Michigan. They had Gary, Bush and Long drafted last year. Bredsen, Onwenu, Patterson, Hudson, Hill and Metellus were all multiple year starters. Eubanks, Kemp, Uche were starters this season.
I'm not saying Harbaugh is going to retire from michigan. Even if they both were the same age, I'd feel the exact same way.Given Harbaugh is 16 years older than Day, that's likely even if both are wildly successful.
Are you suggesting that after Harbaugh wins a few national titles he's going to leave for the NFL?I'm not saying Harbaugh is going to retire from michigan. Even if they both were the same age, I'd feel the exact same way.
I am not suggesting that, no.Are you suggesting that after Harbaugh wins a few national titles he's going to leave for the NFL?
