You probably are the expert on losing to FCS teams though, given that Minny has lost to 3 of them in the past 13 years.

Well, the last 2 decades are far from our best 2 decades, so sure, we've lost to a few of them.

How many Natl Titles has Oregon won again? lol

Maybe not in YOUR opinion, but it would be the lame ass ignorant general opinion that Oregon losing to them, esp at home, would be a HUGE upset.

Of course it would be a huge upset. It would not be Oregon's worst loss of the past 5 years.

How many FCS losses does Oregon have?

How many FCS games have you played? Seems like every school out west than can field 11 players moves up to to Div 1A, if they are allowed. So you have lots of creampuffs to play without having to play FCS teams. Might as well reward Washington with Natl Titles for their what? 9 straight undefeated seasons from 1908-1916? I mean, if it doesn't matter the quality of your opponents, only that you beat who you play, why isn't Washington considered the greatest Pac Team EVER???

There are quite a few FCS teams.

Yes, Eastern Washington.

One team is not the same as "quite a few teams".

NDSU has completely dominated FCS football winning 8 of the last 9 titles. Before they did that, they won 3 Div 2 titles in the 60's and 4 Div 2 titles from 83 to 90, with two runner up finishes in 81 & 84. When NDSU left Div 2, North Dakota filled in the vacuum and won a Div 2 title in 2001 and came in 2nd in 2003, then UMn-Duluth won Div 2 titles in 2008 & 2010, and then Mn-Mankato won Div 2 titles in 2014 and 2019. North Dakota is moving up to FCS in 2020, and joining NDSU, SDSU, South Dakota and Northern Iowa, who came in 2nd in the FCS in 2005. So that is 5 FCS teams, right over the Minnesota border and 2 instate teams with Div 2 titles who could be one of the next local schools to move up to FCS?

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^THIS^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

is "quite a few teams".

Not a single team with 2 Title game appearances in all of history.

You asked for "any" teams that were close to as good as SDSU. Any is >0.

Ok, sure. I'm pointing out that it's also THE ONLY decent team the NW has ever produced as far as FCS/Div 2 teams.

Unlike the Midwest.

Now you're just making stuff up. Montana has often been quite competitive, as has Boise State (before moving up to FBS). South Dakota St has 2 conference titles in the last 55+ years...if they are who you are touting as a top FCS program you continue to embarrass yourself.

You didn't read what I posted, did you?

I didn't even mention SDSU. They've just been coming on lately and have beaten NDSU at least twice in the last 5-6 years.

And not winning a Conf title when you are in the same conference as the team that wins 8 of the last 9 Natl Titles is hardly relevant.

Has Montana EVER made a Championship Game?

And Boise St? Did they ever make a Championship Game while down in FCS or Div 2 or whatever they were?

UMn-Duluth, 2 Natl Titles, Univ of North Dakota, 2 title gm appearances with 1 title, and Mn-Mankato with 2 Natl Titles in just in the 21st Century, combined with NDSU winning 8 of the last 9 titles in FCS and N Iowa making an FCS title game.

That is 13 titles in 15 title game appearances for FIVE different teams within 4 hours drive of UMn-Twin Cities.

Your NW region can't even come close to matching that. Not even close.

13 of 15 > 1 of 2.

13 of 15 > 1 of 2.

WOW, so much stupid in your post, it's hard to know where to start.

1. No FBS teams are playing Division II. Bringing up DII teams is pathetic, and irrelevant.

2. South Dakota State was the team you specifically mentioned. Now claiming you didn't mention them is dishonest.
Any even close to as good as South Dakota St, much less NDSU?

3. Montana has been to the Championship 4 times since 2000...that's 4 more times than SDSU.

4. Boise State does have a NC at the FCS level, and went to the Championship game an additional time beyond that.

5. NDSU is the only legit FCS team near Minnesota.

I was referring to the last post I made with the list of all of the Midwest team's accomplishments. I didn't mention SDSU in THAT post, other than to list them as one of the 5 just across the Mn border.

So you found ONE SINGLE TEAM as good as SDSU from the NW. Wow. Not impressed.

And Montana? So we are expanding out THAT far? lol So I can list all of the teams from Michigan and Missouri and Nebraska and Illinois, then?
Youngstown St maybe?

And I listed the Div 2 teams because both NDSU and North Dakota used to be Div 2 teams that won Titles and then ended up moving up to FCS.

Fact is, the Midwest produces far better football teams than the NW. Always has, always will. And it's not even close.

Perhaps...but Minnesota hasn't been one of them for the past 60 years.

So 1967, 2003 and 2019 don't count?

2016, 2014, 2013, 2002, 1999 weren't bad seasons either.

1977 UMn beat #1 ranked Michigan. 4th largest winning margin over a #1 ranked team by an UR team in cfb history.
