I wonder if the Chargers have any interest in trading Oliver. They drafted Gordon and have Woodhead. Oliver would be fantastic behind this line, he's smallish but I think he's a 3 down back. The commentators compared him to Sproles last night. I think the better comparison would be MJD he's a little bowling ball. Injury isn't a concern dude is solid and super shifty.

Doubt they willing to trade their best RB. I would be all for it though.

I know this isn't Madden but didn't they Bring Gordon in to be that guy? Didn't they Draft him in the 1st run so not to read into it, but to me that means that they never intended for either of those guys to be a franchise back.

Snook. I think they would be foolish to trade Oliver right now. After the season when they know what they have with Gordon could be a different story. Without looking up his contract I would guess he makes almost nothing. IMO He is the ideal guy for them to have with the other two right now. If needed to be the man he has shown he can handle it and if needed to take a backseat he's not an established enough player to complain

I agree with both of you Eastbay and Jarntt, but RB is usually the easiest position to transition to from college to the NFL. Oliver could be a stud though so it's a reach for sure. I'd love to have a guy like that though. He'd be a nice compliment to Randle. I haven't loss confidence in Dunbar either. I would just prefer Olivers style and perceived durability over any of our current backs.

I think they would trade Oliver, but it wouldn't be cheap... if he were going to trade a 2nd or 3rd for Oliver, we should have just taken a RB in the draft IMO...

Maybe we coukd trade an OLMAN for him, of course it would depend on which one they are asking for.

You can't judge Gordon on just one preseason game.

What RB is doing anything they could have picked that is any better than Randle?

Wonder what it would take to get Bernard from the Bengals

A lot. Great young talent with a cheap contract and even if he isn't starting the game he is a big part of their plans. Plus, teams with playoff aspirations don't give up their top backups too easily due to how many injuries you get in an NFL season. Not that he is as good of a player as Gio, but you would have a better chance on Oliver...

I say we roll with what we have for a few more weeks and see unless someone offers us somebody we can't refuse. One big thing I noticed in the first game was the third down back- Clutts. I don't know if this is just because there is injuries to our supposed top 3 or the best option we have. Nothing against Clutts because he did a great job the other night, but Romo didn't mind swinging it to Murray ever. Murray didn't always make the first down but he got his share. The Skins game two yrs ago comes to mind when he scored.

Injuries I'm sure, but yes 3rd down back is still a concern
