What I always found more amusing was when the whole Red Sox Nation name started to gain steam, and the Yankees brass reaction. The Yankees, in their classic paranoia that the world was starting to NOT revolve around them, declared "Yankees Universe". The funny part was that they thought Red Sox Nation was the Sox saying they were the team of the U.S., as opposed to what it really meant, and that was that it was simply the group of Red Sox faithful fans.
