as far as your post, REAL football fans know what the carson palmer rule preceded the brady rule as theyre called...the hit on palmer became illegal after the fact, after the bengals lost him due to the hit.

things have to happen to make them rules.

Carson Palmer - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

On the Bengals' first pass play, Carson Palmer threw a 66-yard pass to rookie receiver Chris Henry. It was the longest completion in Bengals playoff history. After Palmer released the pass, Steelers defensive tackle Kimo von Oelhoffen was pushed from behind while diving for Palmer, violently wrenching Palmer's knee, and he was forced to leave the game. Amagnetic resonance imaging test revealed a severe knee injury, thought to be career-threatening at the time; Palmer had tears of both the anterior cruciate and medial collateral ligaments as well as cartilage and meniscus damage. Coincidentally, Henry himself suffered a knee injury on the same play, though far less severe. Having knocked Palmer out of the game the Steelers went on to win 31–17.

During the off-season, the league's Rules Committee modified the rule regarding low hits on quarterbacks. The new rule prohibited defenders from hitting a passer at or below the knee unless they are blocked into him. The so-called "Carson Palmer Rule" now requires that defenders take every opportunity to avoid hitting a quarterback at or below the knees when the quarterback is in a defenseless position looking to throw with both feet on the ground.

Yeah, all bullshit rules. The Brady rule, took it to another level.

There have been 8 million QBs since Jeff Blake that never said a word about deflating footballs

It's not an unwritten rule, stop embarrassing yourself, this is getting really bad for you now

it is. its to gain an advantage via a better grip for his large hands.

its why he tries to sneak them thru and hope the refs approve them.

PS dirt

this is how you use google to find things:

Ex-quarterback Jeff Blake -- Deflating footballs common

"I'm just going to let the cat of the bag, every team does it, every game, it has been since I played," Blake said. "'Cause when you take the balls out of the bag, they are rock hard. And you can't feel the ball as well. It's too hard. Everybody puts the pin in and lets just enough air out of the ball that you can feel it a little better. But it's not the point to where it's flat.

"So I don't know what the big deal is. It's not something that's not been done for 20 years."

And anyone that has played the game knows it makes catching it more difficult

Deflating creates a huge advantage for every offensive player that handles it

Ray McDonald is now out of the league and that is almost certain to be permanent (cant imagine a GM giving him ANOTHER shot).

So back to deflated footballs I guess.

And note to all Pat's fans: Cheating in the AFCCG is a BIG deal. Life and death? No. But still about as big as it gets in the sporting world.

So now 30 minutes of football is all we need to determine whether something helped or hurt a team? So if we only take a half of football then about half the players in the league should be HOF players by the numbers they put up in that one half of football.

As for the topic at hand. What is the point of this topic? I don't think you are going to find a single person on here that is going to say beating someone's wife is a good thing. We all know it is terrible and I am proud of the Bears for cutting him and I hope every team in the league sets the precedent that this will not be tolerated and he doesn't find work. We shall see what happens with that. Having said that his actions off the field don't actually affect the game in general. It is an isolated incident. Now breaking the actual rules of the game affects the integrity of the entire game for every team especially when they were caught in the 2nd biggest game of the year.

Now you can say that the deflated footballs didn't help them and even by your words essentially it hurt them but then why do it? Why in the world break the rules if all it is going to do is create a disadvantage? It makes no sense if you are trying to compete for a Super Bowl to then put your team at a loss even before the game begins.

uno?

no, i didnt say that. what does the teams markedly better play in the 2nd half with ref approved balls (worse in the first with under inflated) have to do with the pats beating baltimore?
