Champ Bailey

Chris Harris

Agib Talib

Willie Brown may have been the best, but got traded to the Raiders after 4 years - really the first Bronco to get into the HOF.
I've been religiously a Broncos fan since early ' 70's and those 4 are the only ones that deserve " all time " good credentials. All the rest IMO aren't no where near the talent at that position Denver has had in past. I do believe that D. Williams might be there as well if his life would have played out differently. Aside from the aforementioned, the rest were serviceable for the most part IMO.

.. and for the sake of conversation, and what I am feeling, I'm just about ready to put Talib up there with Champ

Homerism aside, I am definitely taking Talib over Revis

Safety talk comes later.

I think Harden did play some CB here though right?

Old timers?

I know Harden moved to S but not sure if he started off as a CB here or not. I wasn't gonna add him but was under the mindset that he was strictly a S but now Im starting to feel like maybe he played some CB.

Yeah your a homer, but it's cool. :)

Can't go wrong with either, but nobody covers like Revis cept my boy Richard Sherman. :)

I would actually say Chris Harris is a better cover man then Patrick Peterson. To me Chris Harris might be top 3 in terms of being consistent and ability to cover with Revis and Sherman.

He isn't the playmaker Peterson is by any means but he gets picks and can tackle well. Talib tackles, hit and covers pretty well. Just doesn't have the speed to cover in man to man vs top elite WR's like umm cough TY Hilton, but he is very good otherwise.

I remember when Chris Harris made our team I was telling SpringStein how surprised I was... That he must be on the roster as a gunner. (Which he kinda was his rookie year, but we obviously saw something in his coverage ability) boy am I happy Denver was smarter then me on that guy. Was not high on him in college. I love his story and a lot of it is because I wasn't a believer watching him in college. He is surely one of my favorite Broncos.

You can't put Talib in there as a best anything all-time for Denver. He's played here one season. As someone else mentioned, I have to vote for Chicken too.

I can't believe someone was brave enough to get me started on cornerbacks. Who started this thread? Lucas?

I think we listed nearly every CB of the last 20 years in this thread that put on a Denver Bronco uniform. :-)

I think Talib has more playmaking ability than that of Revis and is the better of the two of baiting a QB into a bad throw. Revis has him all day every day though as a better Corner in the fact that week in and week out you know what you are getting from Revis. Until Talib can prove that every week he can play like he has these first two weeks I just can't put him with that top tier of guys. That again is what Harris brings to the table in every week we get to see his best on the field. It is why he hasn't allowed a touchdown since what 2013. Believe me I am as excited as any right now with the ideas of what Talib can be this year but I also know there could be that game where all of us are shaking our head going what was he thinking? He is prone to get beat over the top and this defense is prone to getting beat over the top so I do expect there will be a week where Talib gets beat in that manner by somebody he just can't stay with speed.

Imagine that - a QB wanting contact, and the CB wanting no part of it . . .

Was a huge Ray Crockett fan when he was with the Lions. I was just a kid so didn't follow Free Agency like I do today, but I remember suddenly getting the sports page and it has a list of free agent signings in there and I was reading through Denver's and saw they had signed Ray Crockett, boy was I pumped. It was sorta that first year when a ton of players hit free agency. Back then it was a nice little change to have so many players change teams in one year. Today it is all too common.

Anyone remember when we signed Tim Brown to an offer sheet? Which was obviously matched but led us to offer Anthony Miller an offer sheet that was never matched.

I remember when we made the offer to Tim Brown

I was also at the Jets / Broncos game when Elway hit Anthony Miller for a long TD pass - it was a thing of beauty

Ironically, Wade was the HC then ... and I remember being upset because he had Elway take a knee at the end of the game and play for overtime ( which we lost )

I'm sure you remember Rod Bernstine and Gaston Green and Leonard Russell !!

I liked Russell - and when Ruben Droughns came along, he reminded me of Russell ... Droughns had that great year here

GO BRONCOS !!

:)

Yeah remember when Leonard Russell was shot when he was on the Patriots? Non life threatening. I just remember Russell in that #42 jersey.

Gaston Green came over in the Gerald Perry year. His best NFL year was as a Denver Bronco.

I once got a dollar dance at the strip club in Des Moines, IA from a girl who use to date Rod Bernstein. Not sure what is connection to Iowa was, but there was a Jordan Bernstein from DSM who played at Iowa and for the Redskins who was related to Rod.

She saw my Rod Smith jersey so told me the story.
