Hate to bring this back to an old point, but........................

David Andrews was an undrafted free agent signed by the Patriots who took over for a guy many thought might potentially be a HOF'r. Strock, who faded into the nothingness.

Drafted centers don't always make it. It's bit different in the NFL. Quarterbacks are a bit different too.

thats EXACTLY why teams dont draft Center in the top 10 of the 1st round. EVER!

I never said teams don't draft Centers. I said and meant they don't draft rhem in the early 1st. Of course teams draft C. But they never ever go in the top 10 because all 32 GM'S know it's a lower valued position

Never ever get drafted high NEVER. 50 years 700 picks ZERO Centers.
Hardly any in the HOF compared to other positions.
The highest paid Center is the 125th highest paid player in the league.

So what you are essentially saying is GM's will not under any circumstances use a top pick on one. They are the 2nd lowest paid position ahead of only TE so GM's wont pay them as well as other positions, they rarely make the Hall of Fame but... "They are really really important"

Bob Hyland was a Center drafted with the 9th pick in the draft. Drafted by GB. (same draft a center was drafted with the 12th pick as well)

Same draft a center was also picked with the 15th pick.

Someone proved that wrong then switched to top 14 (very weird # to use)
but then someone pointed a couple of 12th picks so to your credit you said top ten (instead of saying top 11)
Well not only can you no longer say top ten.
but you cant say top 5 either.
you are stuck with they have never been the #1 pick in the draft.

So the good news is. We are close to having you stop moving goalposts, since there will be no where else you can move them too.

Then why do Centers never ever get drafted in the first round if they are soooo important while LT's DOMINATE the 1st round more than any other position? In 2013 3 of the first 4 picks where LT. I bet 3 Centers havent been drafted in the first round in the last 5 years and NONE before pick 20?

I said none got picked in the top 20 in the last 5 years when I made that post and I was right. So I never changed anything. Here’s the problems with your “centers aren’t important because they aren’t drafted in the top 15 picks” argument.

First, “top 15” is an arbitrary number and you picked it bc you looked st previous drafts when you first said it in 2017. However, since then centers are being drafted in the first round. Ok, maybe not the top 15 but they’ve gone 18 and even had multiple centers taken in the first round SINCE you made that statement in 2017.

The arbitrariness of that number 15 leads me to the second problem with your argument. Generally speaking, teams that are drafting in the “top 15” are really bad teams and as such have MULTIPLE needs. While center may not be a top priority that doesn’t mean it’s the LEAST priority. In other words, nobody had said center is the “most important” position but that MUCH different than saying it’s the “least important” decision.

Third, if you really understand football then you know that many teams are switching to 3-4 defenses. Football people will tell you that when you face teams that play a 3-4 defense it’s CRITICAL that the center be able to handle the NT one on one most of the game. If he can’t (and as such requires help) that creates holes for the LBs to rush the passer thru. No football person would ever say that a “critical” position is the “least important”.
