Thats obviously what I meant because that is EXACTLY what we were talking about. Comparing players to Center. Jesus man be for real.

Ranking each position's importance, from quarterback to returner
Power Ranking the Importance of Each Position in Today's NFL

Wrong again. I don't care about position vs position. That argument you're having is probably with another poster. The statement you made several years ago is centers don't make that much money which was proven incorrect.

No you dumb fucking twat. You said centers don't get paid well. We're not comparing positions cause that was not the original statement 2yrs ago.

Dumb fucking twat come up with point after point after point.

Never ever get drafted high NEVER. 50 years 700 picks ZERO Centers.
Hardly any in the HOF compared to other positions.
The highest paid Center is the 125th highest paid player in the league.

So what you are essentially saying is GM's will not under any circumstances use a top pick on one. They are the 2nd lowest paid position ahead of only TE so GM's wont pay them as well as other positions, they rarely make the Hall of Fame but... "They are really really important"

No it wasnt. We werent having a specific one on one conversation. THey are one of the lowest paid positions on the team. This entire thread was comparing Centers to other positions and now you are playing word games. Nice try though.

Then why do Centers never ever get drafted in the first round if they are soooo important while LT's DOMINATE the 1st round more than any other position? In 2013 3 of the first 4 picks where LT. I bet 3 Centers havent been drafted in the first round in the last 5 years and NONE before pick 20?

Never? Facts were proven they were then you started with top 15, 10, 5 etc.

Yes, off the top of my head I said each round is 15% of the draft. Its actually 14.28... man Im a dumbass.

You still don't get it. the first number is the total number of players drafted at that position in the last 5 seasons(All 7 rounds)

The second number is the amount of those picks that were 1st rounders

simple division you fucktard moron

Teams don't draft rhem mid to late. 3 teams in the last half decade have. 29 haven't so I wouldn't say teams draft C their
The vast majority don't touch them in the first two rounds at all. On rare occasions 3 teams out of 32 decided to pick a C late first round. Big difference.

This seems wrong

I guessing Nate Newton is on the Centers are important side of this argument. The other day he said Tackles get the money but its Centers and Guards who keep the pocket clean.

Tra Thomas said center is the most important position on the line. He played on the line for many years so I'll take his word an All Pro over Bucky Brooks opinion article. Tra was on a good rant about it last Friday morning.

So Nate the Great who was a 3x Champ and played on one of the best o-lines formed agreed with us? Not possible.

I never once slightly changed anything. Why do people constantly say things with zero basis. I didn’t negate that there is 2 tackles. I said they get drafted 3 times as much and it only should be twice as much if all things were equal. Yes, Guards were slightly more then two to one ratio. Guess what? Guard, like Center is one of the lesser valued positions. I never once slightly changed anything. I stayed consistent and to the point from the beginning. Harold accuses me of moving the goalposts and it made absolutely no sense at all. He said I was trying to change this to what is more important, LT or C. I said... someone else brought that up and I was speaking to them. How the fuck is that me moving the goalposts. Made absolutely zero sense.

I’m really starting to believe this love of Centers is along the same lines as the Steve Nash winning more MVPs then Kobe which is absolutely mind boggling. A lot of people could better relate to a guy who wasn’t a 6’8 super freak athlete. He was small, not very athletic and got good via hard work. People can relate to that. I think it’s the same as Center. A position that takes limited athletic ability. They aren’t super athletes. And I know this is controversial but honestly the majority are white. People can relate to that much better then some genetic freak like a young Julius Peppers. Center are bottom of the barrel athletes. The least athletic position on the field by a wide margin. Not athletically gifted enough to play tackle. Not big or strong enough to be a Guard. They don’t go one on one against anyone and help guards. Players aren’t even allowed to directly lineup over them anymore.

They have some important responsibilities, yes. They are also bottom of the barrel athletes that even if a team had a devastating hole at Center and a once in a century Center prospect was available they’d still pass if the had a top pick. That says something

there you go again with your racist views towards white people. I suggest you tone it down with your racist rants.

This argument about C not being important because they are not drafted 1st overall is plain dumb.

Draft position is NOT the only indicator of “value”. C is an instrumental cog in the offensive machine. Who cares when they are drafted? How many number ones have busted and how many late picks have delivered huge value to a team?

The last 5 drafts produced FIVE not 3 1st round centers, plus 6 2nd round centers. Yes 11 centers to 10 teams = 1/3 of the league. Two things to keep in mind.
1. A number of teams are set at center.
2. Your backup center is often a guard.

If teams need a center they will freely use a 1st or 2nd.

This is not hyper analyzing this is just pointing out an error.

This has been said and repeated so many times I lost count, yet he still doesn't get it.
