Yep, one was 49 years ago. Thanks
You are wrong. Plain and simple. People make fun of you for this very reason. You can never admit you are wrong. You spin shit worse than a drying machine and its impossible for you to keep your foot out of your mouth.

That’s all I’ve been trying to say... Centers aren’t one of the most important positions and that’s why teams don’t use elite picks on them. All positions are important even kicker.

no... that’s NOT what you’ve trying to say.

I said none got picked in the top 20 in the last 5 years when I made that post and I was right.

As I pointed out when you originally said that 3 had been picked in the top 20 during the previous 5 seasons 2015 Erving, 2016 Kelly, and 2018 Ragnow(Price was also taken at 21 this year)

nope. You’d rather have Jason Kelce’s impact being the best C over Aaron Donald. You forgot WR and I guess you’ll take Kelce over Julio Jones right?

Considering teams with a franchise Center wont draft one. (definitely not one early) They usually have long careers with low injury rates. I find it pretty amazing centers have been drafted in the top 20, 4 of the last 5 years. (2017 only year they werent)

Someone on this site once told you ever & never is a very long time.
Bob Hyland was a Center drafted with the 9th pick in the draft. Drafted by GB. (same draft a center was drafted with the 12th pick as well)

Time for your doesnt count, doesnt matter & definitely time to move the goalposts again.

Bob Johnson was drafted with the 2nd pick in draft by Cincinnati. (yep #2)
Same draft a center was also picked with the 15th pick.

Side note I just found interesting.
there were two Centers drafted before Dan Marino one of the all time greats!

Anyways.
It started with they didnt go in the 1st round. Then you quickly realized how wrong that was & switched to top 20.
Someone proved that wrong then switched to top 14 (very weird # to use)
but then someone pointed a couple of 12th picks so to your credit you said top ten (instead of saying top 11)
Well not only can you no longer say top ten.
but you cant say top 5 either.
you are stuck with they have never been the #1 pick in the draft.

So the good news is. We are close to having you stop moving goalposts, since there will be no where else you can move them too. :thumb:
Thanks Schmoop. I realized PE1 is owned many face palm.

yes? I’m missing your point. It was posted before Ragnow. At the time of my post 3 had gone in the last 5 years all after pick 20

Im assuming all things being equal here. Your average C is far more valuable than an average DT or WR

It may be different if youre talking the elite guys but that wasnt the question

I actually ran across it on accident LOL.

I was looking up some QB things in the draft & saw the centers :heh:

Also kickers & punters has been drafted in the 1st round as well. (think there was a mention of that not happening either)

Well not in my opinion but we all have differing. I don’t know how to identify average. All I know is the best DT have a bigger impact then the best C

nope cause the Raiders kicker went in the first. So don’t try to add more shit I never said and you were wrong. 2 of your 3 were out of my 50 year time frame. I don’t know of any punters though?

that is how he tries to spin the debate.

He tries to use the greatests ever & elite names.

I will take a quality center over a quality WR

if you had a bad Center & a bad WR, the bad center would hurt your game more than the bad WR.

Now throw in Randy Moss' name & he makes subpar QBs better. Everyone will take Randy Moss over a top end Center.

He loses himself in the fact we are talking about position not the actual player. (X's & O's)

Well using Donald as an example is kind of unfair as he may be the best DT in history lol

True but if I had to choose between the Eagles losing Kelce or Fletcher Cox it isn’t even a thought.
