no no no... he was suggesting starting Font... then going to Grimm. IE - those 2 would ahve taken the place of Feldman.

Which still leaves the other 5 innings that happened last night.

yes i was suggesting using them in place of Feldman who went 4 innings but i would have expected to get at minimum 5 innings out of them (maybe 6) and then go to Kirkman for at least 3 and then like they did last night get an inning out of Uehara and then 2 out of Ogando. that's 11 or 12 innings and keeps Longball on the bench.

and when was the last time either of them pitched??
You would have rather had one of those 2 last night?!?

Getting back to tonight....here's this little tidbit of information

Jarrod Parker is 2-1 with a 1.86 ERA in four starts in September.

both pitched an inning on the 18th against the Angels and had just completed the AAA playoffs before that. so stretching them out for 2 or 3 innings each couldn't have been worse than watching Feldman during his 4 innings. Feldman was in constant trouble and i spent those 4 innings waiting for the bottom to drop out

Well ... that wouldn't have happened. Feldman gave up 2 runs ... TEX offense failed again; Give up was the 10th Again.

Here I was trying to agree with Scotty ... and you ruined it

Font was a closer in AA though.... not a starter. Last time he pitched over an inning - was almost a month ago.

Grimm pitched (Aug) 5.2 on the 23rd & 1.2 on the 31st. Then 2.0 on the 3rd.......and 1.0 on the 18th.
So his last start was essentially a month ago.

No thanks. I'll stick with Feldman filling in.

If Perez gets in trouble early tonight, where do we go? We've had 2 straight starts where the bullpen has essentially thrown 16 out of 19 innings. I suppose Oswalt, Yoshi, Grimm, and Font are all available but who wants to roll out that foursome in a pennant race?

Really need 6 good innings from Perez. Pretty nervous about this one. Loss tonight makes tomorrow a must win IMO.

4 innings 75 pitches 4 hits 3 walks and 2 runs for Feldman and he was in trouble the whole 4 innings.

but yeah the big issue was the offensive failure again

so how many innings did Feldman go? i would have gone with Font for 3 innings and then Grimm for 2 or 3 followed by Kirkman & Ogando. and "long-ball" lowe would have never left the bullpen

Font and Grimm for 2 or 3? Font has pitched one inning at the major league level and Grimm is sporting an ERA of 100. This is MLB not the Texas League.

How hard is it to figure out you don't give a hitter anything near the plate when you're ahead 0-2?

Throw Cespedes 4 change ups in a single at bat and he's going to time it? Go figure.

Just what we need is Perez to get off to a bad start. The Ranger bats need to come alive tonite. They are long overdue

The Darvish scratch looms big now. I have no doubt last nite that the 2 runs we scored would have held up with Yu pitching.

If it comes down to trying to secure the division or HFA next week against the A's, I would not start Perez . We cant take the chance on him wetting the bed again
