Real legit question with honest response is who do we project to start for us 2020?

ABD, Mendez, Jurado, Perez, and a free agent signed to a one year deal. Then we would sign about 3 veteran types for AAA in case of injury.

I haven't heard if any pitchers are coming over from Japan this offseason. Maybe we go after one if some are available.

I would think Rangers want to be competitive in 2020 debuting the new ballpark. I would hope out of our MILB system a couple of guys like Martin, Hernandez, Palumbo, and Cody would be starting games for us. We will have one big FA signing if we show improvement next season. That is my thought. Thinking the plan is to compete by then

technically you could do both, you don't have to DFA him, you can outright cut him

If he was DFA'd he can be traded after the deadline as well

But we're not getting much for him whether we kick in salary or not
