I prefer not to rush the development of any of our starters so we can go nuts trading off pieces just because.

Of course this is true and it is also true that if you wish to make some FA splash for 2020 season it would be best to have something in place as you surely can not add 5 quality SP. just look at this year.

I don’t care if we trade Minor if we get quality for quality. But he is one piece we got for more than 2 years.

To me trying to unload all expiring contracts esp of older guys is first priority then 2019 expiring contracts.

I didn’t watch the game today, but I cringed looking at the box score.

The batting averages are terrible. We probably need a new hitting coach sooner rather than later.

We don’t need him and we don’t need his salary on the books either.

None of those guys still in the minors project to be in our rotation when we are ready to contend with the possible exception of Mendez or ABD and they would not be rushed at all if they are brought up. Brett Martin is just about the only starter in the top two levels that needs to be protected from being rushed.

If they are in true rebuild mode then they should find a way to move him. When Calhiun is absolutely ready, why is there a reason to keep him. Just afraid Choo value for any club is decreasing

I agree Kell that is why I ask the question. Running out of time to get much for him and we could easily be paying after his ability to make the 25

Don’t we have a bunch of salary cap money we didn’t use this year?

That should make moving Choo a priority this July. Even if we have to eat a bunch of money and get mediocre prospects back.

Choo is not going to be around when ( or if) this team improves. Might as well get him out of the picture so that we can get more young players in the lineup.

If he is below replacement value then you waive him. If he has a place in someone's lineup then we could get a lower tier guy and eat money. Would be great if Choo could get hot before the break

I think what they do with Choo will give us a good indication about the directon that management is taking the team going forward. A solid rebuilding plan is needed, but that means a .500 team at best when the new stadium opens. Can they do this right or are they going to try and take shortcuts?
