I know relievers success can vary so much from year to year, but I sure am hoping and praying that Diekman has a great year next season. It would be a shame to have him work so hard in the midst of so much adversity this year for him to come in next season and have a year like Dyson or Jeffress had this year. That is, for his sake I mean. As a fellow human being I am just happy that he is healthy again, but I know he wants to do well very badly and he is working very hard to do so.

Maybe foolish is the wrong word. Perhaps what I should have said is, "I can't imagine him coming back here."

And you're right, it's not 100% until he signs his next contract.

My disagreement is more about him being foolish if he comes back and not in thinking those who believe he could come back are being foolish. I think fans always wish players would be motivated by things other than making the most money so if a guy like Yu goes somewhere for reasons other than money I am not going to think he is being foolish at all.

On the other hand I might understand some thinking I am foolish for thinking he might be one of those not motivated that way.

You don't owe any explanation. Seems like hunting fly specks in the pepper to me. Foolish is just a word that only means something to the reader and in my case I read it as not having a lot of derogatory implications. Just a casual conversation. Life is too short to worry about this. Seems foolish to me LOL

Strange that the same thing happened with Darvish. Does Brocail have to hold classes on this. These pitchers and catchers along with coaches should not be having these problems.
