Texas hit 111 homers last year and currently has 45 through 5/23. I am just hoping that trend continues and we will see closer to 150+ hit this year.

And that was after an abysmal April.

with Hamilton in the line-up starting Monday, how do you think that alters the line-up? LF of course, but I'm thinking they bat him 5th between Beltre and Moreland and that we platoon our CF. What do yall think or want to see?

I don't think Moreland ought to be moved out of the five spot the way he's producing. I say slot him in behind Mitch, and make DDJ your starting CF with Martin getting a couple of starts a week against right handers and becoming a defensive sub.

Lmao at BBTN. Their analysis about today's game is all about how bad the Yankees defense is playing, and nothing about timely hitting and Prince's power surge by Texas. Gotta love east coast media. :L

yeah I really debated moving moreland...im happy with a line up that looks like this:
DDS/Martin(against righties sometimes)
Choo
Prince
Beltre
Moreland
Hamilton
Elvis
Catcher
Field/Rosales(every once in a while)

If Rua can play 2b we might be in business.

Good article on our # 1 and 2 spots.

Fraley: With 25 runs in two games, have Rangers finally settled on 1-2 spots in lineup? | Dallas Morning News

And some real interesting/encouraging news on the pitching front.

Left-hander Matt Harrison, trying to return from spinal fusion surgery, pitched four scoreless innings in his second start with the extended spring training team. He threw 62 pitches. … Right-hander Alec Asher was promoted from Double-A Frisco to Triple-A Round Rock. Frank Lopez, a strike-throwing left-hander, replaced Asher at Frisco. In the high Class A California League, Lopez was 4-1 with a 2.95 ERA and eight walks with 43 strikeouts in 422/3 innings.

Sorry, but screw ESPN. This night game is going to be rough on us going into Cleveland and getting to the hotel about the time the sun comes up. And then they schedule us for an afternoon game with the Indians on top of that. What the hell?

This is no time for a let down. We can win and Boston and NY series should inspire our young guys to develop a can do attitude. Hope so anyway.

I remember reading that the Rangers had a brutal first half schedule, and getting through it in decent shape could hypothetically pay off for them later on when it eases up.

First week to 10 days was pretty rough, may have had something to do with the shitty April. Gotta play all the ones on the schedule though, just pitch and hit the ball better than the other team and hope that is enough

If Rua can play 2b we might be in business.

Thats where I would play him in all his rehab games. Get him lots of chances there and see how he does at 2B when he is back from injury. Should be serviceable on defense and will bring a lot more with the bat than Field and Rosales
