There’s two main problems with this team.

(1) The team is widely outscored in the 7th inning by a negative run differential.
(2) The team as a whole can’t hit the fastball.

Yesterday Peralta threw around 70% fastballs when he averages around 52%.

Tonight, Wilson comes in with an ERA over 4 but he throws the 4th most amount of fastballs in the majors and was very successful.

It’s a huge problem and every team in the majors knows it’s the weak spot of this team.

Especially the high fastball.

From Tepid:

One of the hottest pitchers on the Rangers farm is Down East’s little-known, 21 year old Venezuelan David Davalilo. 4 ER over his last 34ip. Pitches with maturity and uses both breaking balls pretty well. Kid is in a groove right now.

Frisco's closer, Tyler Owens, has thrown 100 mph recently.

Funny how baseball goes. We had needs. 1.Need was starters 2. Need was BP and long relievers
3.Need a closer. Well we have those needs now so what do we need now? We need what we did not need. 4.Offense.
5. Need hitters to get up off their back - side and earn their money. 6. Replace those that can not produce. Folks it isn't hard to know our needs. It is much more difficult to acquire them. Example: When a manager / FO does not know that players like Grossman and Traveras have no place in the lineup, a major problem exist.
Yep! Funny how baseball goes.

From Shawn McFarland:

“We need to start seeing some results,” general manager Chris Young said. “We’re going to try and inject some life into this offense.”

On Duran: “We’ve given him an opportunity to try to get going here, it just hasn’t worked out.” They want him to build confidence in AAA.

From Shawn McFarland:

Ezequiel Duran had slashed .225/.245/.324 in his last 30 games with a single home run.

“Zeke’s performance has not been on par with what we think he’s capable of,” Young said. “We need him to go down, work on some things mechanically, get hot.”

From Shawn McFarland:

Chris Young on Justin Foscue, who is back at Triple-A after oblique injury: “It’ll be performance driven. The reality is that anybody who is performing in Triple-A is going to get an opportunity here.”

Are they looking for a way to light a fire under this team?

“It’s time.”
