Stroman may be melting down even worse than Mike Minor. Can he have any trade value left?

I got no interest in Stroman or Lynn....

Both he and Lynn just lowered their price tags tonight. Can’t imagine any team willing to part with a top prospect to land either one. Hopefully tonight’s performances from those two convince CY they aren’t the right targets for us.

I personally think the Rangers only need to make a move, if it makes this current team and the team in the next couple years better. If you dont significantly upgrade the staff then dont make a move

I wouldn't be bummed if the Rangers got this guy.

Glad the Angels are buyers. This hurts them in the long run.

I am also glad the trades have started.
Same here. Hoping more than anything CY addresses the bullpen.
We probably win both series against the Dodgers and Astros if the bullpen doesn't blow it.
Obviously we still need at least one more starting pitcher as well. Getting another hitter would certainly help, but is the lowest priority to me.

My question is, if the Rangers are really good at that, then how come they haven't used that magic on some of their own veteran pitchers this year?

The Astros decided to take a stick and poke the sleeping Rangers tonight. They may regret that.
The offense tore Houston up tonight.
Made Valdez look like the recent version of Martin Perez.

From Mark Feinstein:

As contenders around the league look to upgrade their starting rotations by Tuesday, Eduardo Rodriguez is becoming one of the hottest trade properties out there.
The Tigers left-hander has been drawing plenty of scouts to his recent starts, with the Rangers, Rays, Reds, Phillies and D-backs among the clubs keeping a close eye on the 30-year-old.

Rodriguez was having a stellar first half, posting a 2.13 ERA in 11 starts when a left index finger injury landed him on the injured list for five weeks from late-May to early-July. Since his return, Rodriguez has pitched four times, producing two good starts and two subpar outings, though his 3.23 FIP in July suggests he's pitched better than his 5.66 ERA this month suggests.

Eovaldi is the only legit starter we have that I think could win a postseason start. That's why trading away assets for this season is so foolish. We are not a true contender this year. And we won't be until degrom comes back healthy.

We can't compete with the Braves, Astros, Dodgers, even Orioles and usually the Ray's.

Need a ton more good arms. We're not even close.
Yay more stupidity from the peanut gallery, we've effectively been in 1st all year, we've only not been in 1st place 1 day all year, but it's all smoke and mirrors to the 4th best record in MLB

Do we need bullpen help? Yes. Do we have flaws? Yes. But do does just about every team.

Get a bullpen arm or 2, kick the tires on a couple starters and maybe a lineup piece, but by no means overpay

Kick the tires

I'd rather be able to be proactive about ILing Eovaldi for a couple turns to rest then have him get hurt and be out

The respective OPS for Acuna, Carter and Saggese. I think they are ready for AAA if they are all still here next week.
Crim is at .896
Foscue is at .860

Wish the Rangers could get on the right side of the buyers market / seller's market sometime.

Seems like when they were acquiring talent from 2010 to 2016 it always seemed like there were more buyers than sellers. Then during the lean years you had 8 teams tanking. Now, for the first time in years they're looking to buy and now it seems like it's again a seller's market. Especially with LAA going all-in.

Can't do anything about it tho I guess. Just really terrible luck.

Lopez hasn't given up a run in his last 8 relief appearances. Both are free agents after this year but was worth what they paid for them. If we are passing on a Giolito to look at a Lance Lynn we need our heads examined. Hope that is not the case.
