Jordan Montgomery is being moved to the pen by the Diamondbacks. They may be nudging him toward not exercising his option.

Sad situation. Maybe he gets moved on the off-season

I don't think we see Rocker up here this year. I doubt they want to carry him on the 40 until next season.

I am not sure that either Mahle or Scherzer is coming off the DL.

No way they roster Rocker. One less pitcher we can protect

This is a post I’ve dreaded…. but it’s time. The last 3+ years have been difficult within my playing career, as I have fought consistent nerve issues since my head injury in ‘21. I find more joy in helping others vs. helping myself, and it’s time to do that full-time now.

I am sorry to see that Tyler Zombro is retiring. His is a fantastic story, and I was looking forward to seeing him pitch for the Rangers.

Oh, I am not suggesting the Rangers don't want those guys to come back. I think they wanted Scherzer to pitch next Wednesday. I just think Scherzer is too fragile. I am suspecting Mahle was hurt more than they let on on more than they think. That may not be the case, but it is hard to ne confident that he isn't. Of the two, Mahle would surprise me the least if he makes it back.

As bad as this year has been with injuries, I wouldn't be surprised if another pitcher or two gets hurt before the end of the season.

Rocker will not be rostered this season. I expect he is a mid summer call up next year to the Rangers.
I would like Leiter to make one, maybe two more starts for RR. Bring him up Sept 1. Alas injuries may force their hand.

I sure would have liked for him to have gotten a few more starts for Round Rock before coming up.

I would have liked at least another start or two at AAA, however it's not unreasonable to give him a handful of starts in Arlington to get a sense of where he's at. If he looks good - even in a small sample size - it gives the front office that much more reason to not spend much on starting pitching in the offseason and to pour resources into the pen and offense instead.

My son, who lives in Mkchigan, knows I really follow the Rangers prospects, closely. He just doesn't know who all I like as I have never had an indepth discussion with him about it. He has no clue how I feel about any of them. He does collect trading cards. Just now, he texted me the following out of the blue.

"At this point do you think Blaine Crim's rookie card will ever be worth something?"

I see that despite an impressive Rangers win.
Btw keep up the great work with all your posts on the prospects.
Sometimes I go to all 4 sites with our affiliates but it’s hard to do it every night.
I would also like the Rangers to develop these young pitchers in hope of having some home grown starters For the future. It sure looks promising

I bought the Ivan Rodriguez and Juan Gonzalez rookie cards when they were rookies and my brother at the time asked me “Do you think they’ll ever be worth anything?”.
I don’t remember what I paid for them or if they’re worth anything today.

Minority shareholder Mark Cuban said at an event earlier this month, according to WFAA-TV, that if Bally doesn’t renew its contract with the Mavericks, the franchise will do what it can to maximize distribution.

One option could be partnering with the Stars, who ended their rights agreement with Bally and will launch a direct-to-consumer streaming app, Victory+, that will allow in-market fans to watch games for free this season.
