Bochy is senile. Walking the tying run on to base was just the dumbest thing I have ever seen. Beyond idiotic.

WORST case by pitching to Ketel Marte is he hits another HR (low chance of that), and it’s tied. But instead you gave them a FREE runner and brought the WINNING run to the plate.

I thought Burke would come in. Smith now has given up runs in 5 of last 6 appearances. He has dropped down with Sborz and Leclerc so quit putting him in when the game is on the line.

That is seriously the dumbest thing I have seen a manager do in decades. Banny never did anything that dumb. Neither did Woodward.

2 outs. You are 1 lousy out away from the win, you’re 2 runs ahead, and only 1 guy is on base. Arizona was dead in the water. And Bochy goes and GIVES them a free runner! We went from 1 swing ties it to 1 swing loses it because of our manager. That goes against not only all baseball logic but all common sense.

I had just checked in to see what was happening and saw runners on 1st and 3rd with 2 outs and saw that the runner on 1st was intentionally walked. I couldn't believe that we would put the tying run on base. Then I couldn't believe Smith was who we chose to finish it out. He has been a bum lately.

Bochy is getting absolutely roasted left and right on Twitter (and deservedly so) by both writers and fans alike. Nobody can believe what he just did.

Google “Bruce Bochy” and look at the tweets flowing in in absolute disbelief. Even Astros and Mariners fans are saying what a gift Bochy just gave them.

Smith is toast. He shouldn’t be trusted again. Burke, Stratton, Chapman. That is it until Heaney gets moved there (and even that isn’t guaranteed to work).

I would go with Stratton and Chapman for the close out and push Smith to a 7th inning guy.

Is the team cracking under the pressure of a pennant race? Is there something going on in the clubhouse? Or, has almost everyone, including the manager, gone cold all at the same time.

Combination of factors:

- Bullpen, minus a few solid guys, has crumbled even further now that Smith and Sborz have been added to the trash heap.

- Jung and Heim getting hurt have killed us. Heim is playing, but he is clearly not himself or at full strength. And Jung, warts and all, is far better than Duran and Smith.

- Most of the lineup is ice cold, and even the guys who aren’t ice cold but just kind of “cool” (Semien, Seager, etc) have their bad nights. It’s too much to overcome when like 7 of the 9 guys each night can’t buy a hit.

- Bochy has single-handedly cost them 2-3 wins over the last 2 weeks with completely boneheaded moves we all said were stupid as he was doing them. His refusal to use Burke and Stratton in high leverage situations and instead turning to guys like Anderson, Smith, and Sborz has hurt them badly.

Aaaannnndd another "worst loss of the season". This was never gonna be our year anyway. But this team is finding new ways to choke every week now.

Burke needs to be the 7th inning guy. He is a better pitcher than Smith, and it isn’t particularly close.
