lee at the right price would be good............

anybody think having the dodgers eat some of crawfords salary and him replacing murph in LF sound good......

i think i wouldnt mind it if the offense doesnt get going when we get healthy

shouldnt cost too much (crawford)....lee will take some prospects but not much of the top prospects

would rather see us go after David Price as far as pitching is concerned and Gonzo or Stanton as far as bats are concerned because Cruz will be gone by the All-Star break if we go by the reports.

I'll bet you a cup of coffee Cruz doesn't serve any suspension this season.

was thinking of deals that wouldnt cost profar and the rest of the farm......deals we could get while keeping profar

we have already talked about the price/stanton deals

Cliff Lee IMO is the best option Out there without giving up Profar. But i would love stanton or Price here though.

I'd be willing to bet a large stack of cash that Lee never wears a Rangers uniform again for a variety of reasons: 1) Prospect cost (again) 2) Contract cost 3) bad blood 4) Texas listed as a no trade team in his contract (this can be worked around but it will take something on the part of the Rangers, like guaranteeing the last option year in his contract)

I'd like to see us test the trade waters for McCann so that we have the groundwork to try to sign him in the offseason.

For actual trades, I am willing to bet that we don't pursue any SP's seriously. Probably kick some tires, but will be targetting bullpen help. I'm wondering if TOR does a Miami style firesale, and if so if Janssen is in the mix to not be resigned and made available.

What about a dominic Brown from the phillies? He would be nice add to replace cruz in the outfield

The price for him would be too high right now. He is not going to keep producing like he has been, so buying right now would be overpaying.

I would like mccann thats an interesting option. But atlanta is contending.

I really wouldnt think it would be bad blood. I would love him here again

He didn't leave on bad terms like Hamilton, but it wasn't good, but don't forget we're on his his of teams he can say no to, once again that will require a concession of some sort on the Rangers part

On top of everything else, I don't see it happening

Yeah, they won't trade him. But ring their phone, then let a beat writer in on the idea we were asking about him :)

Has to make you feel good knowing someone out there really wants to lock you up when your current team already has your future replacement.

By all means TEX needs to wait until he isn't producing at the top of his game so they don't overpay (???).

Yes, that was my point. :wtf2:

Let me go back, sounds like you might have been on the "trade and sign Dickey...pay ANY PRICE" bandwagon in the offseason.

Didn't he take fewer years and less money to go to Philly, said he would sign here only if we gave him more years than Philly was offering?

When it comes to acquiring pitchers, free agents or by trade, we tend to have the same opinions, and I know I was firmly against any sort of trade for Dickey, so I think you probably have him confused with someone else

Considering you guys were thinking about trading for Stanton you're probably in the same mindset as the Mets, but do you have any expendable outfield bats? Mets have a ton of young arms and desperately need help in the OF.
